The Almighty Dominance Chapter 565
Wu Bu hovered in the sky above the City Lord’s residence, his aura rolling outward like a tidal wave of iron and bloodlust.
Servants lay collapsed across the courtyard. The weaker ones were already unconscious. The stronger ones trembled, barely able to breathe.
Inside the bedroom, Alex lay motionless on the floor beside his bed, blood staining the wooden planks.
The former God’s Hand—reduced to this.
Zhuge Liang stopped in the corridor, eyes narrowing slightly as he felt the pressure.
Wu Bu.
The Tiger of Wuhan.
A Core Formation cultivator at the very least.
Zhuge Liang exhaled softly.
So this was the result of gossip.
Li Qingxue’s name carried weight. Too much weight. And once rumors tied Bai Xiaochun to her, challengers were inevitable.
Cultivators were like that.
They would risk death for pride.
They would risk cities for reputation.
Zhuge Liang adjusted his sleeves calmly.
If Bai Xiaochun died here, the city would fall into chaos again. Power vacuums attracted vultures.
That was unacceptable.
He turned to a guard who was barely kneeling upright.
“Seal the inner courtyard. Evacuate civilians,” Zhuge Liang ordered calmly.
“Y–Yes… Acting City Lord…”
Above, Wu Bu’s voice thundered again.
“Coward! Is the so-called lover of the Sword Maiden nothing more than a rat hiding in his hole?!”
The pressure intensified further.
Wood cracked.
Tiles shattered.
Zhuge Liang stepped out into the courtyard at last.
He did not kneel.
He did not tremble.
Though his legs felt as if they were sinking into mud, his expression remained composed.
“Senior Wu Bu,” he called out clearly, cupping his hands in formal greeting. “To what do we owe this honor?”
Wu Bu’s eyes narrowed as he looked down.
“You are not Bai Xiaochun.”
“I am Zhuge Liang. Acting City Lord of Qingshui.”
“I did not come for you.”
Wu Bu’s aura surged again, intentionally.
Zhuge Liang’s vision blurred for a second—but he did not fall.
“Then Senior has come to the wrong place,” Zhuge Liang replied calmly. “Bai Xiaochun is gravely injured. He is no match for Senior.”
Wu Bu snorted.
“Then he should not hide behind a woman’s name!”
Zhuge Liang’s gaze sharpened slightly.
There it was.
Pride.
“Senior,” Zhuge Liang said evenly, “rumors are wind. They are not contracts.”
Wu Bu’s killing intent flickered.
“You deny it?”
“I state only facts. Bai Xiaochun has never claimed connection to the Pure Snow Sword Maiden. Nor has he issued challenge to anyone.”
Wu Bu hovered silently for a moment.
He had come fueled by hearsay. Fueled by reputation.
If Bai Xiaochun truly was Li Qingxue’s lover, defeating him would raise Wu Bu’s standing overnight.
But if the man was crippled…
It would be meaningless.
Wu Bu’s eyes swept the residence again.
His spiritual sense extended inward—
—and stopped.
Something felt wrong.
The aura inside was weak.
Pathetically weak.
No foundation. No circulation of qi. Barely more than an ordinary mortal.
Wu Bu frowned.
“That man inside,” he said slowly, “is that Bai Xiaochun?”
“Yes,” Zhuge Liang replied without hesitation.
Wu Bu’s expression twisted slightly.
“That… thing?”
Zhuge Liang did not react.
Wu Bu’s pressure slowly withdrew.
The tiles stopped cracking.
The servants could breathe again.
“I do not bully ants,” Wu Bu said coldly. “If he survives and grows strong enough, tell him I will be waiting.”
With that, the Tiger of Wuhan turned into a streak of light and shot into the sky, vanishing beyond the clouds.
Silence fell over the residence.
Zhuge Liang waited another ten seconds before finally allowing himself to exhale fully.
“Send for a physician,” he said calmly. “Quietly.”
Two guards rushed inside.
Moments later, they found Alex still unconscious, blood at the corner of his lips.
Zhuge Liang entered the room and looked down at him.
So fragile.
So useless.
And yet…
So valuable.
Zhuge Liang folded his hands behind his back.
“The world has begun to notice you,” he murmured softly. “Even when you try to do nothing.”
Outside, Qingshui City buzzed like a disturbed hornet’s nest.
The Tiger of Wuhan had appeared.
For Bai Xiaochun.
And by nightfall, the gossip would grow even larger.
Not weaker.
Stronger.
