The Almighty Dominance Chapter 556
Alex was the King of Estoria and the richest man in Prussia.
He owned five storage rings, each packed to the brim with gold, jewels, rare herbs, and treasures worth more than entire cities.
And yet, when it came to love and friendship, he was utterly bankrupt.
The climb to the top was always lonely—brutal, silent.
He had become so poor that money was the only thing he had left.
Pulling out a box of gold ingots—the kind the Xia people adored—cost him nothing. Not even a sting.
Just a faint scratch on his vast coffers.
“Young Master Bai!” the old man who had shouted the loudest accusations moments earlier suddenly cried out, his voice trembling with exaggerated emotion.
“I said it before they even arrived! It’s impossible! Absolutely impossible for Young Master Bai Xiaochun—the purest man in this city, no, in the entire world—to ever violate a poor and ugly woman like this!”
All eyes turned to the old man.
Because everyone knew the truth.
Bai Xiaochun was infamous. Unhinged. Wild.
If he were in the mood, even a scrawny grandmother with one foot in the grave wouldn’t be safe—let alone a young, beautiful woman like the one standing there now.
“But alas, they refuse to believe me!” the old man wailed, pounding his chest as though his heart were breaking.
“Look at Young Master Bai! Handsome, pure, a true gentleman! How could he do such a thing? Even if a woman were violated by a young master this handsome, she should consider herself lucky to be touched by the City Lord’s heir!”
Alex stared at him—the same man who had been hurling accusations just minutes ago.
Then he clapped once, delighted.
“Good. Very good speech. You deserve ten gold ingots.”
The crowd gasped. Eyes widened. Mouths fell open.
“Thank you, Young Master!” the old man shrieked. He rushed forward, snatched the ten heavy ingots, stuffed them beneath his tattered clothes, and fled as though the crowd might rob him at any second.
A strange realization spread through the onlookers.
A few flattering words were worth two gold ingots.
If someone raised their praise higher—wrapped it in poetry—it could earn even more.
In Xia, two things mattered above all else: cultivation… and culture.
And when it came to poetry and song, they were unrivaled.
If twisting words out of thin air could turn into gold, they would wring their long-unused minds dry for better phrases.
“Young Master Bai Xiaochun!” A burly man stepped forward, cracking his knuckles.
“I’m no good with words, but I know my fists. I’m Kang Wi. I’ve lived in this city my whole life. From this moment on, if I hear anyone dare call Young Master Bai Xiaochun impure, trash, or a criminal, I swear on my ancestors—I’ll break their noses.”
The city was small. Everyone knew everyone. Through blood and marriage, half the population was related.
And Kang Wi was infamous.
A local brute. A man who made his living beating people. A small-time street thug no one wanted to provoke.
Alex looked at him and returned a respectful palm-and-fist salute.
“I honor the great hero Kang Wi for defending the justice of my pure name. Take ten gold ingots.”
Kang Wi’s face split into a grin so wide it looked painful.
“Thank you, Young Master Bai!”
The crowd gasped again.
Ten gold ingots was no small sum—nearly a hundred thousand dollars. For villagers in a small city like this, it could feed a family for five years without lifting a finger.
“Young Master Bai!” an elder cried emotionally. “Even the heavens know your innocence!”
Alex looked up. “Did the heavens speak to you?”
The elder hesitated. “Well… no.”
Alex nodded. “Then who did?”
The elder glanced at the box of gold. “The heavens… spoke through that.”
Alex smiled. “Ah. Divine revelation. Very reliable these days. Take two gold ingots.”
The woman who had been nervously staring at the box of gold panicked. She feared it would be empty before her turn.
She rushed forward.
“Young Master Bai, I am Meng Hua… the woman you raped,” she blurted out.
Then she slapped her own mouth.
“I’m sorry! You are pure. Innocent. I don’t know what I was saying.” Another slap.
“I am a woman who was violated by some man. But because I admire you so much, Young Master Bai—noble, pure—I imagined that man was you. That was clearly my mistake.”
Her voice trembled as she bowed again and again, carefully twisting her words so she wouldn’t say the wrong thing and lose her gold.
“You are the man every woman dreams of. I came here without realizing you had always been innocent.”
She wiped her eyes dramatically.
“But I couldn’t control my feelings. I dreamed of marrying you—the City Lord’s young master, pure and honorable. Please forgive me for loving you too much.”
Alex nodded solemnly.
“It is my sin to be handsome and inspire such dreams. Since you admit your mistake, I will hold no grudge. Take twenty gold ingots for clearing my name.”
The woman burst into tears.
“Young Master Bai, you are truly heaven-sent. I truly love you. I’m so happy to be touched by you—by the thought of you.”
She scooped up the gold and clutched it to her chest. Before leaving, she stepped close, wrapped her arms around Alex, and leaned in to whisper seductively, “Young Master Bai… whenever you wish to come, just come. I won’t lock my door at night. I’ll be waiting.”
Cold sweat prickled across Alex’s back. He leaned in and whispered urgently,
“Please lock your door—and add more locks. It’s safer that way.”
She giggled, ran a finger lightly across his chest, and winked.
“Don’t be shy, Young Master Bai.”
She blew him a kiss and walked away.
“This time it’s me!”
“No, me next!” others shouted.
