Irene gasped the second I turned toward her.

I could only imagine what I looked like—mascara smudged, foundation streaked, eyes red and swollen. A total mess. But honestly? I didn’t care. I was so overwhelmingly happy that nothing else mattered. My heart felt full—like it might burst—and for once, everything in my world felt exactly right.

“Seriously, Judy,” Irene groaned as she walked over. “You look like you’ve been through a hurricane, and we haven’t even done photos yet.”

“Nan’s having a baby,” I blurted out before I could stop myself.

Irene froze mid-step and slowly turned toward Nan, disbelief written all over her face.

“It’s true,” Nan said with a nervous laugh. “I’m pregnant.”

“Holy shit,” Irene breathed. Then she squealed. “Congratulations!”

She rushed forward and wrapped both Nan and Chester in a hug.

A second later, Gavin rounded the corner with Taylor and Eliza behind him. Eliza carried baby Emalyn, and—of course—Gavin had Ryder in his arms.

Nan’s entire face softened when she saw her daughter. She moved toward Emalyn immediately, just as I stepped toward Ryder.

“Why is everyone hiding out in the hallway?” Gavin asked, pressing a kiss to the top of my head as I kissed Ryder’s tiny forehead. “Matthew is about five seconds away from rioting over that cake.”

“We just found out Nan is pregnant,” I told him, my smile stretching so wide it hurt.

Gavin’s brows lifted as he looked at Nan, who was blushing under the attention.

“That’s huge,” he said with a nod. “Congratulations.” Then he glanced back at me. “Now, can we get back to the main event?”

I laughed. “You mean the cake?”

“Exactly,” he teased, winking as he wrapped an arm around my waist and gently steered me toward the reception.

I took a step, then noticed Nan wasn’t following. She lingered behind with Chester. When our eyes met, she gave me a small, knowing smile.

“I’ll be there in a minute,” she said softly. “I just need a second with my mate.”

I nodded. I understood completely.

So we went back to the party and cut the cake—which was, without question, the highlight of Matt’s entire night.

The rest of the evening blurred into laughter, music, and dancing. It was everything I’d dreamed it would be.

“Congratulations!” Tabby said, pulling me into a tight hug. “I’m so happy for you. You’re glowing. Even with all that makeup running down your face.”

I laughed. “Yeah, Irene hasn’t let me forget it. But it was worth it.”

“How’s Irene doing, by the way?” Shirley asked. I hadn’t even realized she was standing there.

“She’s doing great,” I said, glancing across the room.

Irene and Erik were wrapped around each other on the dance floor, completely lost in their own world.

“I heard she found her mate,” Shirley added with a relieved sigh. “I’m glad that wasn’t just a rumor. We had no idea Chuck would go that far. We knew he was a siren, but using his power like that… it was wrong. We don’t condone it. I’m so sorry.”

“You don’t need to apologize,” I said gently. “It wasn’t your fault he turned out to be a dirtbag. The only damage was emotional, and Irene’s stronger than that. She has her mate now, and his Alpha is handling Chuck. Everything worked out.”

“And you just got married,” Tabby chimed in with a grin. “Let me see the ring!”

I held up my hand, showing off the Moon Gem. They gasped and cooed over it, calling it stunning and perfectly fitting.

“Judy, time for pictures,” my mom called, waving me over.

We took photos everywhere—inside, outside, by the lights, near the flowers. By the end of it, my cheeks hurt from smiling, and my feet were begging for mercy.

Eventually, it was time.

Our friends and family gathered outside, cheering as Gavin and I walked to his car. They waved as we climbed in and drove off—for the first time as husband and wife.

Gavin glanced at me once we were on the road and held out his hand.

“Are you ready?” he asked softly.

I looked at his hand, then back at him. “For what?”

The corner of his mouth lifted into that slow, devastating smirk I’d fallen in love with.

“For the rest of our lives.”

I smiled, sliding my fingers between his.

“I’ve been ready for a long time.”
