Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 935
Daisy stood at the end of the altar like a deer caught in headlights, her eyes flicking around the courtyard, nerves written all over her face. She wore a simple black dress—nothing flashy—which, for Daisy, was unexpected.
My gaze shifted to Gavin’s mother. She stared at Daisy, her expression unreadable. Daisy had once been like family to her… until the betrayal. I didn’t know if that kind of damage could ever truly be undone—even if Noah had manipulated her through a mate bond she never wanted.
“My almost wife just asked you a question,” Gavin said, his voice booming across the courtyard.
The silence that followed was so thick you could’ve heard a pin drop.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt,” Daisy said, her eyes locking on mine. “I just came to show my support.”
I lifted my brows. “Your support?” I asked, unsure I’d heard her right.
“Yes…” she said softly. “And to apologize for everything I’ve done. I know I’ve said it before, but… it wasn’t what I wanted. I hope we can start over. Maybe one day, we could even be friends.”
I glanced at Gavin. He looked anything but convinced.
“Why do you suddenly want to be friends?” he asked, folding his arms over his chest. “I thought you were leaving town. Starting over somewhere new.”
She swallowed hard, her throat tightening with emotion.
“Because this has always been my home,” she said, tears pooling in her eyes. “I don’t want to leave. I don’t have anywhere else to go.”
I knew what Gavin was about to say. He didn’t trust her. He didn’t want her anywhere near our pack. Before he could speak, I placed my hand on his shoulder, gently claiming his attention—and him.
“She’s pack,” I said quietly, holding his gaze. “Maybe we start fresh. Show a little compassion. Especially today.”
He frowned. “After everything she’s done? Why would you want her here?”
“Because she didn’t think she had a choice before,” I told him. “Now she’s choosing.”
He searched my face for a long moment. Then his expression softened.
“This is why I’m marrying you,” he said, the corner of his mouth lifting.
I laughed softly. “Why?”
“Because your heart is pure. And you’re going to be an incredible Luna.” He leaned down, brushing his lips over mine.
The priest cleared his throat loudly. “We’re not at that part yet,” he teased, earning a wave of chuckles from the guests.
I stepped back, laughing under my breath.
“Fine,” Gavin said at last, turning to Daisy. “Take a seat. We’ll figure out what this means later.”
Relief flickered across her face, though worry still lingered in her eyes. She slipped into a seat in the back row, her head bowed for most of the ceremony.
But my focus wasn’t on her anymore.
It was on Gavin.
“Gavin…” I began, my voice steady but full. “I never pictured myself becoming a Luna… or being mated to the most powerful Lycan chairman. I thought I’d be a gamma—fighting on the front lines, protecting my pack, protecting my family. That was my dream.”
I took a breath.
“But things changed. I’m about to become a Luna. I’m a mother. And I used to think that meant giving up my dreams. Now I realize… it just means my dreams got bigger.”
I placed my hand over his heart.
“They include you. They include your family—because now they’re my family. And I will protect them with everything I have in me. I love you. I love the world you’ve built. I love that you’ve made space for me in it. You’re my rock. I’m proud of the man you’ve become. And I’m proud that we get to live this life together.”
Emotion tightened my throat, but I pushed through.
“It’s not just my dream anymore. It’s ours. I may not be a gamma… but I can still protect our pack—and then some. You probably don’t even realize it, but you made my dreams come true. And for that, I’ll always be grateful.”
