“I need to make sure Chester is still on his way with Ema,” Nan said, pulling out her phone. “Want me to check on your father too? He has Ryder, doesn’t he?”

“Yeah. He’s actually with Zachary Blackwell,” I replied, shaking my head at the mental image. I never would’ve pictured my dad spending time with Zachary. But Zachary had recently been promoted to Beta after Alpha Sampson began looking for one, and Gavin believed there was no one better suited for the role than my father.

It was a title my dad accepted proudly, and honestly, I couldn’t have been happier for him.

“Zachary’s trying to branch out,” Selene said with a small shrug. “He wants to get to know the people who adopted his daughter.”

She didn’t say Lila’s name, and neither did I. We didn’t have to. The memory of everything that happened was still fresh. Lila was away at an inpatient treatment facility, finally getting the help she needed. I was grateful for that. It meant she wouldn’t be a threat to our peace anymore—at least not for a long time.

The ceremony was being held at the church near the packhouse, the same one where many great Alphas before Gavin had been blessed, including his father. The place meant a lot to him, which was why we chose it.

I had wanted an outdoor wedding, so everything was set up in the large yard behind the church, the one that stretched toward the packhouse.

Rows of white chairs lined the grass. Pack members filled them, their low murmurs blending into a steady hum of anticipation. Even Olivia was there with her friends, dressed in beautiful gowns, their hair styled perfectly. They scanned the setup with open excitement, like they couldn’t wait for what was about to happen.

It was still something I was getting used to—the approval. The acceptance.

“Are you ready?” Nan asked quietly, her eyes sweeping over the sea of guests.

The aisle was long, stretching between the two sections of chairs. On one side sat the Redmoon pack members, including Alpha Sampson and his mate. On the other were the Silver Crescent pack members, along with several chairpersons and visiting leaders.

I spotted Tabby sitting near Jeremy. Shirley was beside her, both of them looking stunning.

When Tabby saw me, her smile widened. Relief loosened something in my chest. She gave me a small wave, and I returned it immediately.

My father met me at the church entrance. We stayed just out of Gavin’s line of sight while we coordinated. Ryder was awake in his arms, smiling up at the world.

My dad carefully handed him to me.

“He better not spit up on your dress,” Nan muttered, crossing her arms.

We all laughed.

Chester joined us moments later with Emalyn in his arms. Nan instantly melted, cooing over the baby and kissing her chubby cheek until Emalyn giggled, setting off another round of laughter.

“Come here, sweetheart,” my mom said, gently taking Ryder from me and kissing his cheek. Then she looked at me. “I’ll take my seat with this little one.”

“I’ll come with you,” Selene added, giving me a soft smile. “I’ll see you soon?”

I nodded and surprised her with a quick hug.

As she turned to leave, I called after her. “Can you send Zachary over here?”

She hesitated, confused, but nodded before walking away.

I turned to my father. He studied me carefully.

We had talked about this before. I’d told him I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. He told me to follow my heart—that he wouldn’t be upset, no matter what I chose.

The answer had come to me last night.

Clear. Simple. Obvious.

A few moments later, Zachary stepped inside the church, scanning the area until his eyes found mine. He walked toward me, concern etched across his face.

“Everything okay? There was a slight delay,” he said.

“Yes,” I assured him, swallowing past the sudden tightness in my throat. “But I need to ask you something.”

His expression sharpened.

“You can ask me anything, Judy. You know that,” he said gently.

“I need you to walk me down the aisle,” I told him.

His eyes widened as he glanced between my father and me.

“What?”

I let out a soft laugh and reached for both of their hands.

“Let me explain,” I said. “You’re both my fathers. I want both of you to walk me down the aisle and give me away.”
