Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 926
My mom led me to the bar where Selene and Cora were waiting. Selene spotted me first and offered a polite smile as I approached.
“It’s good to see you,” she said, giving me a brief hug. “How are you?”
“I’m good,” I replied, trying not to sound awkward. “You?”
She nodded, though she looked just as uneasy.
“I’m good,” she said. “I was hoping maybe we could talk later?”
I nodded, even though I really didn’t want to have that conversation during my bachelorette party.
“Yeah, sounds good,” I said.
Before it could get any more uncomfortable, Nan swooped in and shoved a tiny glass into my hand.
“What is it?” I asked, eyeing the liquid.
“A shot!” she yelled over the music, raising hers so I could clink it.
I shrugged and tapped my glass against hers.
I tossed it back immediately—and nearly gagged at the straight tequila. Everyone around us burst into laughter and cheers.
“Do you remember how we first met?” Irene asked, sliding onto the stool beside me, drink in hand.
I smiled, my mind drifting back to her engagement party. I had been shattered that night—my fated mate engaged to marry someone else. And that someone had turned out to be one of my closest friends.
Now, the memory felt distant, almost surreal. I leaned my head against her shoulder.
“Yeah,” I said softly. “I remember.”
“Can you believe where we are now?” she laughed. “We’ve changed so much, haven’t we?”
I nodded. “We really have. And I’m so glad we did. I wouldn’t change who we are for anything.”
She grew quieter. “I never thanked you. For everything. You helped me more than you know. I don’t even know how to repay you.”
“You don’t have to,” I said. “Tomorrow we officially become family. And I love you.”
Her eyes filled with tears, but her smile only widened.
“I love you too,” she said, nudging my shoulder.
A second later, Erik came up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing the back of her neck. She giggled.
“Come on!” Nan said, grabbing my arm and pressing another shot into my hand. “Let’s dance.”
And we did. For what felt like hours, we danced and drank until I knew I was going to regret every decision in the morning. Good thing my wedding wasn’t until tomorrow night—or I’d never make it down the aisle.
“Judy?”
I heard my name behind me and spun around too fast, nearly losing my balance.
I froze when I saw Olivia and her friends standing there, all looking uncharacteristically nervous.
“What the hell are you doing here, Liv?” Irene asked, crossing her arms. “Haven’t you done enough damage?”
“Where’s Lila?” Nan added, arching a brow. “Shouldn’t she be busy plotting her next move against Judy?”
“You didn’t hear?” Olivia said. “I thought Selene Blackwell would’ve told you. Lila’s gone. She was sent to an inpatient mental health facility. She caused a huge scene at the packhouse. She’s in therapy now and isn’t allowed to leave for a while. She… wasn’t well.”
“And you’re here because…?” Nan pressed.
Olivia ignored her and kept her eyes on me.
“We came to apologize,” she said quietly, her gaze dropping to the floor. “We were wrong. Lila wasn’t fit to be Luna, and we should’ve given you a chance. We heard what you did for Fife. We saw what you did for Daisy Baldwin. We had no idea they were that evil. We were manipulated into thinking you were the problem. We couldn’t have been more wrong. We’re sorry.”
I just stared at her.
“You’re… sorry?” I asked. “You’re apologizing to me?”
“We were wrong,” she repeated firmly. “And we’re mature enough to admit that. So yes—we’re sorry.”
Her friends nodded in agreement.
“And…” Olivia continued, swallowing hard. “We want you to know that we would be honored if you’d accept us… as your Luna.”
