Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 919

My chest tightened at the sight of the document. Without thinking, I stepped toward Esme and took it from her hands, flipping through the pages to see exactly how much Irene had given that asshole.

“Hey—that’s personal,” Irene protested weakly, her voice breaking. “You have no right to go through my things.”

“Irene,” I said, lifting my gaze to meet hers, “why did you send him all this money? This is a lot. Does Gavin know about any of this?”

“No,” she said quickly, panic flashing across her face. “And please—don’t tell him.” Tears spilled down her cheeks as she shook her head.

Nan moved closer and leaned in to look at the document. Her eyes widened.

“Whoa…” she breathed. “That’s more money than I’ve ever seen in my life.” She looked up at Irene, stunned. “Why?”

“He needed it,” Irene said, folding her arms tightly across her chest as she sniffled. “He was sick and needed medical treatment. It wasn’t just for him—his family needed help too. His pay’s been terrible since the gamma competition. He was promised more money, but they lied to him. He barely makes anything now, and he has to support his mom and his little sister…”

    My brows drew together.

I thought back to the gamma competition. There had been an older man there—one who resembled Chuck. I’d seen them talking a few times. At the time, I hadn’t cared enough to ask.

    Now, I cared very much.

I turned slowly to Chuck. “Then who was the man you were seen talking to at the competition?”

His eyes widened just a fraction before he pressed his lips together, refusing to answer.

“So glad you asked, Judy,” Cora said smoothly. She reached into her bag and pulled out a photograph.

It showed the same older man, standing beside a well-dressed woman and a much younger Chuck. Chuck stood in front of them, smiling brightly, their hands resting proudly on his shoulders.

“Is this him?” Cora asked, pointing to the older man.

“Yes,” I said quietly. “That’s him.”

“That’s his father,” Cora said, turning her sharp gaze back to Chuck. “Isn’t it? And before you lie—don’t bother. I called him myself.”

    Chuck’s jaw tightened.

“There were no medical issues,” Cora continued coldly. “His parents never saw a single cent of that money. In fact, Chuck has barely been home since the competition. He was promoted to a leadership role on the Elite team and has been doing exceptionally well. His parents are incredibly proud of him.”

She paused, letting the words settle.

“As for his family struggling financially?” Cora scoffed. “They come from old money. They’re very well off.”

    My heart sank.

I had always known Chuck was lying—but this… this was undeniable.

I looked at Irene. Her face had gone deathly pale, her mouth slightly open. She wasn’t looking at any of us.

    She was staring at Chuck.

The pain on her face was unbearable—raw and unfiltered. I hated that this was how she had to learn the truth, but I didn’t know any other way to reach her.

“Which brings us to the final truth,” Esme said quietly, pulling out one last document.

“A blood report,” she continued. “This confirms that Chuck is a siren on his mother’s side. The trait skipped her—but Chuck inherited the gene.”

“What?” Irene whispered, taking the document with trembling hands. “How did you even get his blood work?”

“I had Eliza collect it during one of the interrogation sessions,” Taylor said with a shrug. “And I’m glad I did. We also found a significant amount of drugs in his system.”

He frowned. “He’s an addict. Makes me wonder whether Jeremy knows.”

“Doubtful,” Cora said flatly. “Jeremy would never allow him on the Elite team if he did. And Chuck’s been abusing steroids—far more than is safe.”

She grimaced. “No wonder his muscles always look so… unnatural.”

“Sick,” Nan muttered, rolling her eyes.

“I don’t understand…” Irene whispered. “Why bring me all the way here? Why does this have to happen at the mansion?”

Esme stepped toward her. Her presence was gentle, grounding. Irene seemed to sense it too, instinctively leaning into that calm.

“Because this is where he cast the siren’s curse,” Esme said softly. “The essence of the spell still lingers here.”

She met Irene’s eyes, steady and unwavering.

“And this is the only place where we can break it.”
