Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 914

“She appears to only be sleeping… everything still seems normal,” Eliza said for what felt like the hundredth time in the past twenty-four hours.

Judy hadn’t moved from the bed. She hadn’t woken up. Nothing about her condition seemed abnormal—and yet she was still asleep. That terrified me more than anything else. I hadn’t slept since she’d been brought to the clinic.

“You really should get some rest, Alpha,” Eliza said gently.

The room was dim, the lights lowered. I sat at Judy’s bedside, my fingers tightly entwined with hers. At one point, I thought she was going to wake. Her breathing shifted, subtle but unmistakable, and my wolf surged forward in response. He felt her wolf brush against his—an unmistakable presence—right on the edge of consciousness.

    Then it was gone.

I didn’t speak. I barely even blinked, afraid I’d miss the moment she opened her eyes.

Eliza sighed, but before she could say anything else, there was a knock at the door. She exhaled and went to answer it. Instantly, my senses caught the familiar scent of my daughter—and the softer, new scent of my son in her arms.

Irene had taken on the burden of caring for the newborn while I stayed here with Judy. My mother and Judy’s mother were helping, but Irene had carried the weight more than anyone.

All I cared about was that my son was healthy. Eliza had said he was strong—stronger than most newborns—and that even now, his power was already apparent.

“Dad…” Irene said softly after exchanging a few quiet words with Eliza at the door.

She handed the baby to Eliza, who nodded and left the room, giving us privacy.

Irene approached cautiously, like she was afraid I might shatter, then rested a hand on my shoulder and squeezed gently.

“How is she?” she asked, her eyes drifting to Judy’s face.

“No change,” I said. My voice was rough from disuse.

“She’s been through a lot,” Irene said quietly. “Eliza said her body just needs rest. She’ll be okay.” Then she hesitated. “But, Dad… my baby brother needs a name.”

    I exhaled slowly.

“I’m not choosing a name without Judy,” I said. “She had one in mind. We just… didn’t expect him to come so soon.”

She nodded, then straightened. “It’s late. You should come with me. Taylor needs you to let him know he’s taking over the office for now. You can’t stay here forever.”

“I’m not leaving,” I said firmly. “Not until she wakes up.”

I felt Irene’s gaze sharpen on me, and I knew what was coming before she spoke.

“You can’t be serious,” she said, her voice breaking. “You’re a Lycan Chairman. An Alpha. A father. You can’t put everything on hold. She wouldn’t want this.”

    Her words came faster, heavier.

“It’s not fair to Taylor. We can’t keep pretending we can run the pack without you. This isn’t healthy, Dad. Your son needs you. Matt needs you.” Her voice cracked. “I need you.”

    Silence fell.

“I’m not okay,” she admitted. “I’m scared. I’m hurting. I can’t keep holding everything together. I’m not this baby’s mother. I need you to step up.”

Without waiting for a response, she turned and stormed out.

I watched her go, guilt crushing my chest. She was right. I was neglecting everything—my pack, my children—clinging to the hope that Judy would wake and need me first.

Eliza was confident Judy would recover. But I wanted to be there when she opened her eyes. I wanted to be the first thing she saw.

Still… Irene had been carrying too much. Someone she believed was her mate had vanished from her life, and she was unraveling because of it—though she tried to hide it. She didn’t know the truth. She didn’t know Chuck was already in our territory… captured.

I stood, ready to go after her.

    Then I felt it.

A weak, gentle squeeze around my hand.

    My breath caught.

    “Gavin…?” her voice whispered.

I turned so fast my chair scraped the floor.

    Judy’s eyes were open.

    She was looking at me.

    Really looking at me.

“Judy?” I whispered, my voice breaking as every emotion I’d been holding back crashed through me at once.
