Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 904
“Aw, you’re the best, Noah,” Lila said, beaming up at him. “I don’t know what I’d do without you and Emmet in my corner. I’m glad all those rumors about me not really being your sister didn’t get to you.”
Noah wrapped his free arm around Lila’s shoulders and kissed the side of her head.
“You’ll always be my sister,” he assured her—still speaking into the microphone so everyone could hear. That alone confirmed what I already knew.
This was all a performance.
I pressed my lips into a thin line, my fists clenched at my sides. I wanted to step in, wanted to shut this down—but causing a scene would only make things worse for me.
Then something shifted.
A deep surge ignited in the pit of my belly, swirling through me, hot and furious. It wasn’t just my wolf. This was something else—something older, heavier, far more powerful.
And it didn’t like being challenged.
Fight.
The voice echoed inside me, sharp and commanding.
Trust us to help you.
I froze.
I blinked and glanced around. No one nearby—only Gavin, Nan, and Irene. None of them had spoken. My gaze dropped to my hands just as faint magic crackled at my fingertips. I flexed my fingers, my breath hitching as the energy surged stronger.
Was the magic… talking to me?
Was this what it meant to be its host?
Before I could stop myself, my voice carried—loud, clear, and powerful—cutting through the crowd and snapping everyone’s attention in my direction.
“Can you prove that Gavin’s business is failing?” I demanded, folding my arms as I locked eyes with Lila. “Because from where I’m standing, it looks bigger than ever—thriving, actually.”
The crowd murmured.
“So tell me,” I continued, my voice steady despite the fire roaring inside me, “why do you think it’s failing, Lila? Are you really so desperate for money that you’d take it from your own packmates and lie to them about it? Or did your family finally cut you off?”
Her eyes narrowed to slits, her face flushing red.
I knew I’d hit something raw.
Selene and Zachary must have cut her off—punishment for lying about the Moon Gem and for everything she’d done to me. They might still love her, but they wouldn’t tolerate betrayal.
“Judy Montague,” Lila spat, curling her lip as she glared at me. “I’m so glad you could join us. And I see you’ve brought Alpha Landry along—how perfect. Now he can finally see who the better Luna truly is.”
“My mate would never choose you over me,” I snapped, both my wolf and my magic flaring violently at the thought. “You’re nothing but a thief and a liar, and the truth will come out soon enough.”
She laughed softly and shook her head.
“I’m not the liar here,” she said smoothly. “You told everyone you were the true Blackwell heiress—which isn’t true at all. You’re just a nobody. An orphan with no family.”
She tucked a strand of blonde hair behind her ear, batting her lashes.
“I’m the real heiress,” she continued. “And I have my brother right here to vouch for me.”
“It’s true,” Noah said immediately, tightening his arm around the woman beside him as she nodded along, as if she had any authority in this matter. “Lila is our true sister.”
My gaze drifted across the room—to Daisy.
She stood frozen, still holding a tray of drinks, barely dressed for the role she’d been forced into. Her eyes were locked on Noah. The pain on her face was unmistakable.
He knew she was here.
And he still flaunted another woman in front of her.
The sight made my stomach twist with disgust.
