Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 902

“For Christ’s sake, it’s Lila Blackwell,” Irene snapped as she flushed the toilet. “Of course she’s going to make a scene. Being the center of attention is what she does best.”

The stall door swung open, and Irene stepped out, staring between the two of us. We were gaping at her, wide-eyed, before she rolled her eyes and walked over to the sink.

“But as a future Luna, you can’t let that bitch break you,” she continued, washing her hands and pointedly avoiding our concerned looks. “You need to stand strong and show this pack who’s really in charge.”

“And how am I supposed to do that?” I finally asked after a brief silence.

She looked like she was about to answer, but before she could, the bathroom door swung open.

    My entire body froze.

Olivia walked in with a couple of her friends. The moment they spotted us, they sneered.

“Well, look at this,” Olivia said, folding her arms across her chest. “Who let trash into this party?”

“Liv…” Irene murmured, tossing her paper towel into the trash. “I should’ve known we’d run into you eventually.”

“I have to say, Irene,” Olivia replied, eyes narrowing, “I’m surprised you’re even out of bed. Aren’t you embarrassed to be seen in public? The tabloids can’t stop talking about your breakup. Such a shame you couldn’t keep a mate. You must be so depressed.”

“You shouldn’t talk about things you know nothing about,” Irene shot back through clenched teeth, her cheeks burning.

I stepped in front of her without thinking, a surge of protectiveness washing over me.

“Let’s not do this in here,” I said firmly, cutting off whatever Olivia was about to say next. “We were just leaving, so if you’ll excuse us—”

Olivia laughed, the sound sending a chill down my spine.

“Oh, this is rich,” she sneered. “Are you seriously trying to act like you’re some superior boss? Just because you’re marrying our Alpha doesn’t make you our boss.”

    I lifted a brow.

“Actually, it kind of does,” I said calmly, tapping my chin. “I’m pretty sure that makes me his Luna—which would also make me your Luna.”

Her lips pressed into a thin line as she stepped closer.

“You will never be our Luna,” she hissed. “Lila Blackwell is far more deserving. She’s trained under Selene Blackwell herself—a true inspiration. You have nothing to offer this pack, and sooner or later Alpha Landry will see that. When he does, he’ll choose Lila over you.”

“Are you forgetting that Judy is pregnant with Gavin’s baby?” Nan said, stepping up beside me. “He’s not just going to throw her away.”

“And she’s my father’s mate,” Irene added shakily. “You’re insane if you think he’d choose Lila over his own mate.”

“That’s exactly why Lila is throwing this party,” Olivia said with a careless shrug. “To show the pack she cares. To prove she can be trusted. Then there’ll be a vote. The entire Silver Crescent pack can vote for or against Lila. As a pack, we’re allowed to appeal to any Luna—and we appeal to her.”

My blood rushed to my ears, and I felt rooted to the spot.

Nan placed a steadying hand on my shoulder.

“Don’t let her get to you, Judy,” she murmured. “You’ll make a great Luna. And Gavin would never allow that to happen. You have to believe that.”

I took a deep breath. She was right. I did believe that.

“Let’s go,” I said, brushing past Olivia.

For a moment, I expected her to block our path, but she stepped aside instead, her eyes narrowing into slits as we passed.

“Don’t say we didn’t warn you,” she muttered darkly.

I paused and looked back at her—really looked. For a split second, I thought I saw something else flicker in her eyes: hesitation, maybe even doubt. But it vanished so quickly I wasn’t sure it had been there at all.

Gavin was waiting in the hallway when we exited the bathroom, worry etched across his face.

“Were Olivia and her friends in there?” he asked. “I saw them heading this way.”

“Yeah,” I said, slipping my arm through his. “But it wasn’t anything we couldn’t handle.”

“They’re absolute bitches,” Irene muttered as she stalked ahead of us toward the party.

“Are you okay?” Gavin asked softly.

I looked up at him and nodded. I didn’t want to tell him what Olivia had said—I didn’t want him worrying.

“Good,” he murmured. “Because you might need your energy.”

    “Why?” I asked, frowning.

His hand tightened slightly at my lower back.

“Because Lila’s about to make a speech,” he said quietly. “And I think things are about to go down. When I say we leave—we leave.”
