Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 895
“What happened?” Gavin asked as I stormed into my room, slamming the door behind me. My entire body sagged against it, and a wave of nausea swept over me, leaving me lightheaded.
“They knew…” I murmured. “They knew I was switched at birth… the entire time.”
Gavin pulled me into his arms, holding me close against his chest and pressing a gentle kiss to the top of my head.
“I’m sure there’s a good explanation,” he murmured, holding me tighter, anticipating that I might pull away.
“Gavin, they knew I was switched, and then they found out about the magic,” I said, looking up at him. “What explanation could there possibly be for not telling me?”
“Your parents are good people, incredible Deltas,” he reminded me. “They aren’t malicious. They love you. They want what’s best, and if keeping this from you seemed like the right choice… I’m sure there’s a reason.”
I wanted to believe him, but I couldn’t fathom not knowing the truth from the start. I understood wanting to protect me from magic—but didn’t I deserve to know I was a magical being?
“Taylor just called,” Gavin continued. “She said Lila is hosting some kind of party tomorrow.”
I frowned.
“A party?” I asked.
“She’s trying to win the pack over,” he explained. “She thinks throwing fancy parties and spending money will make them like her… and maybe even vote for her to be Luna.”
My stomach sank.
“And that… could actually work? People could really vote her in?”
“No, it’s not their choice. It’s mine. Always mine,” Gavin assured me. “But they can make things difficult. That’s why we need to knock her off her high horse and regain control of the pack.”
“Do you mean… go to the party?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I mean we take as many gammas as we can and crash it,” he said firmly. “I’m also going to talk to Zachary Blackwell tomorrow. He might not be her biological father, but he raised her—he’s the only father she knows.”
A thought struck me. Lila hadn’t just been spoiled—she had been taken from her birth family too. Taken from Meg… from the Churchills.
“Do you think she’d be different if we hadn’t been switched at birth?” I asked softly. “If my parents had raised her? And me? What would I have been like? Would I have ended up… like her?”
Gavin looked down at me thoughtfully.
“I think you’d still be you,” he said gently. “I can’t imagine you being anyone else.”
I leaned against him as he wrapped me in his arms again, and for a moment, I felt safe.
“Why can’t things just be simple?” I breathed. “I just want to marry my mate and live a quiet life.”
He brushed a strand of hair from my face. “Maybe that’s exactly what your parents were trying to make happen,” he said, giving me a knowing look.
I smiled softly. Gavin pulled me close, pressing his lips to mine, and I melted into the kiss.
“I love you,” he whispered. “And soon, you’ll be Judy Landry… my wife, my Luna, the mother of my child.”
He placed a hand on my belly, and we both smiled as our baby kicked. He was growing bigger and faster than expected. Eliza had said it was because our child was powerful and filled with his own magic. At just five months, I was already waddling, and I would be giving birth sooner than a normal pregnancy allowed.
The thought terrified me—but having Gavin by my side made it bearable.
“When this is all over, can we just focus on our wedding?” I asked, wrapping my arms around his waist as we lay together.
“I wouldn’t want anything else,” he said, pressing his lips to my temple.
I snuggled into him.
“Have you talked to Irene tonight?” I asked. “How’s she feeling?”
“Tired,” he said. “But she’ll be fine. Once we figure out how to break the curse on her, she’ll be even stronger.”
I nodded.
“Erik is getting restless,” I added. “He’s been texting me since we got back to the Silver Crescent Pack. I don’t even know what to tell him.”
If you want, I can also rewrite the ending section with the baby, pregnancy, and wedding thoughts to make it flow even more emotionally, keeping the tension between magic, family secrets, and pack politics intact. Do you want me to do that?
