Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 893
“Judy, sweetheart. I’m so glad you’re here. I’ve missed you so much,” my mother said as she wrapped me tightly in her arms.
When she pulled back, her eyes were shiny with unshed tears, and guilt squeezed painfully in my chest.
I hadn’t seen my parents in weeks. Everything had been so chaotic, and I hadn’t known how to talk to them—not with everything I’d learned about myself… about my real family. How could I tell them I was in contact with my birth family without hurting them?
I didn’t want to hurt them. Ever.
“I’ve already made up the guest rooms,” my mother said warmly, turning to hug Irene and Matt as well. I loved how easily my family and Gavin’s blended together. My parents treated Irene and Matt like their own grandchildren, and seeing their faces light up warmed my heart.
Irene rarely smiled these days after everything with Chuck, but the moment she saw my parents, her face brightened. She hugged them tightly, and it made me smile too.
“Thank you for your hospitality, Michelle,” Gavin said, giving my mother a gentle side hug. “My family and I truly appreciate it.”
“Of course,” my mother replied, smiling up at him. “Judy is my daughter, and anyone she loves is family to me. I was worried when Beta Taylor called and said you’d be staying here for a few days. He didn’t explain much—just mentioned something about a protest at the villa.”
My father frowned, his thick brows drawing together as he studied Gavin.
“Is there something we should know about?”
“There’s a lot you need to know,” Gavin said, his tone turning formal. “And I apologize for not saying something sooner. My mate wanted to tell you herself. I’m here to support her.”
My father turned to me, eyebrows raised.
“Judy?” he asked quietly.
I knew exactly what he meant. He wanted the truth.
My heart pounded as I turned to Gavin. Despite my nerves, I said, “I need to talk to them alone.”
Gavin lifted his brows slightly.
“Are you sure?”
I nodded, chewing on my lower lip.
My mother’s hand flew to her chest. “Is everything okay?” she asked anxiously. “You’re scaring me, sweetheart.”
I turned to her, my eyes shimmering.
“Everything will be okay. I just need to tell you something… and I hope you won’t react badly.”
Her face went pale.
“Is it the baby?” she asked, her voice rough. “Did something happen?”
“No,” I said quickly, shaking my head. “The baby is fine. I promise.”
Relief flooded her expression as her shoulders relaxed.
I glanced up at Gavin. He was watching me closely, his expression calm and steady. He didn’t need to say a word. He smiled, then leaned down and brushed his lips softly across mine.
“Gross,” Matt muttered, scrunching his nose.
I laughed against Gavin’s lips.
Gavin pulled back and turned to the kids.
“Alright, you two. Let’s get settled upstairs.”
He guided them away, giving me one last reassuring look.
I turned back to my parents. My mother gently took my arm.
“Why don’t we sit in the living room?” she suggested.
I nodded, following them. We sat on the couch—my mother on one side of me, my father on the other.
“So,” my dad said softly, turning to face me. “What’s going on, Judy Bear?”
Both of them were watching me closely now.
I took a deep breath. This wasn’t going to be easy—but they deserved the truth.
“I found my birth family,” I said.
Silence filled the room.
My mother stiffened beside me, but my father didn’t move. He just kept looking at me, waiting.
“I’ve been curious about them for a long time,” I continued quietly. “And I finally found them. But I also found out more than I ever expected.”
My throat tightened.
“That woman you told me about… Meg?” I swallowed. “She isn’t my biological mother.”
“Judy—” my mom started, her voice trembling.
My father shot her a look that stopped her cold. She pressed her lips together, staring down at her hands as tears welled in her eyes.
The room felt unbearably heavy as they waited for me to go on.
