Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 882
My stomach churned. I opened my mouth to argue again, but before I could get a word out, I was interrupted.
“Uh… guys,” Irene said, staring down at her phone with a sick look on her face.
Nan leaned in closer. “Holy shit,” she gasped. “Is that Lila?”
I stepped forward and hovered over Irene’s other shoulder.
Lila filled the screen.
She was live, broadcasting to thousands of viewers, seated at a vanity while filming a Get Ready With Me video. Her blonde hair was pulled back with a fluffy headband as she casually applied foundation, completely unbothered.
“I always knew something was off about Judy,” Lila said lightly, continuing her makeup routine. “I mean… where did she even come from? Those photos of her glowing don’t lie. And I have reliable sources who say she’s strange—and definitely not fit to be Luna.”
She paused to read the comments, then laughed and shook her head.
“You really think I’d make a better Luna than Judy?” Lila chuckled. “Well, that is the goal. If enough people rally behind me, it shouldn’t be a problem. And with my status as a Blackwell, I’d obviously be a better fit to lead the Silver Crescent Pack.”
“She’s not even a Blackwell,” Irene snapped, her lip curling. “Now she’s just straight-up lying.”
“I haven’t fully explained that to her yet,” Selene admitted, looking uncomfortable. “I raised her her entire life. Disowning her over something she had no control over didn’t feel right.”
“But still,” Irene said, crossing her arms. “She has no real status. She doesn’t deserve to be Luna—especially not like this.”
Nan frowned. “Is that even possible? If the pack backs her… could she actually become Luna?”
“No,” Irene said immediately. “It doesn’t matter what the pack wants. It’s my father’s decision. He’s a Lycan. The Lycan Chairmen always make the final call. Always. He would never allow Lila to be Luna.”
“But what if the entire pack turns against Judy?” Nan pressed. “If the majority insists, wouldn’t order have to be maintained? Wouldn’t the Lycan at least have to consider it—temporarily?”
Irene went quiet.
“My father will do whatever it takes to make sure that doesn’t happen,” she finally said, lowering her gaze. Her voice lacked conviction, and a knot twisted in my stomach.
As if summoned by the tension, Gavin walked in, Erik right behind him.
Irene immediately looked away.
Gavin crossed the room and pulled me into his arms. “They’re pulling the articles,” he said quietly.
Relief flooded through me. “Thank you,” I whispered.
He held me tighter, rocking me gently. “If anyone dares lay a hand on you, I’ll end them myself. Consequences be damned.” He pressed a kiss to the top of my head. “It’ll take time for the rumors to die down, but they will. In the meantime, Erik’s taking you back to the villa. I have a few things to handle before I come home—but I won’t be late.”
I nodded and kissed the corner of his mouth. He turned his head, capturing my lips and deepening the kiss. I smiled against him as his tongue brushed my lower lip and slid inside, warm and familiar.
The kiss ended far too soon, leaving me breathless.
“Get home,” he said softly, brushing his lips over the tip of my nose. “I’ll be there soon. Then we can finish this.”
He raised his brows slightly, and heat rushed to my face.
Reluctantly, he let me go, said his goodbyes to the others, and disappeared back through the doors.
I turned toward the group—now including Erik—and noticed Irene was already gone. Of course she was. She avoided him like the plague, and he looked miserable every time she did.
“You look distracted,” Esme said, stepping up beside me. “Anything I can help with? I may not have magic anymore, but I do have wisdom.”
“Not unless you know how to break a siren’s curse,” I said, half joking.
She raised her brows and glanced at Selene. Selene mirrored the look. Then they both turned back to me.
“As a matter of fact,” Esme said with a knowing smile, “we do know how to break a Siren’s Curse.”
My heart skipped.
“But,” she continued, “to do that… the siren must return to the place where he cast the spell in the first place.”
If you want this sharper, darker, or more tension-heavy—especially around Lila or the curse—just say the word
