Seducing My Ex’s Father In Law Chapter 877

“I’ll come with you,” I said before I could stop myself.

Gavin lifted an eyebrow. “Weren’t you just telling me you weren’t feeling well?” He rested his warm hands on my belly, feeling the soft flutter of our baby. “Maybe you should lie down and rest. I can have someone bring you soup later.”

“No, I’m fine,” I said quickly. “It’s passing. Probably just a little gas or something—nothing to worry about. We can go to the packhouse.”

He studied me for another moment, a faint crease forming between his brows. “Are you sure?”

I nodded. “Yes.” I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled myself close, looking up at him. “I want to go with you and see what’s going on. Maybe I can help. I am going to be Luna, after all. I should be prepared for things like this.”

I caught Irene’s wide-eyed stare. She mouthed, What are you doing?

I mouthed back, I have no idea.

Gavin ran his fingers through my hair and smiled down at me, then leaned in to kiss me softly. “Okay,” he finally said. “I’ll get the car ready. Grab your shoes and a coat, and we’ll head out.”

Not long after, we left the villa and headed for the packhouse as a family. My heart raced the entire drive. I didn’t know why I’d insisted on coming—only that I couldn’t stay behind. If I wasn’t there, I was terrified they’d convince him I wasn’t right for him.

I had already lost one mate. I refused to lose another.

I pressed my hands to my belly, grounding myself. I wouldn’t let my son grow up without his father because of a group of bitter she-wolves.

I felt Gavin’s hand settle on my thigh and glanced over at him. He kept sneaking small looks in my direction.

“Are you okay?” he asked. “You seem lost in thought.”

I studied the side of his face as his eyes stayed on the road, then looked down at my lap. Irene had dressed me before we left. I was wearing a fitted red dress that matched the lipstick on my lips. My hair was curled and clipped to the side with a diamond barrette. Black heels with diamond straps completed the look—all real diamonds, as Irene had proudly pointed out.

The car slowed, and my heart slammed against my ribs. Cars were packed around the packhouse, so many that Gavin had trouble maneuvering into his designated spot.

Once we were parked and out of the car, Gavin moved quickly up the steps, his expression hardening into pure Alpha authority. I took Matt’s hand, and together we followed behind him. Irene walked at my other side, her chin lifted, posture sharp and unyielding—as if daring anyone to challenge her.

When we rounded the back of the packhouse, my mouth fell open.

It looked like a full-scale event—only I was the reason for it.

My face was plastered across signs, red Xs slashed through every image. Some read:

    DOWN WITH THE LUNA.
    WE DON’T WANT JUDY.

My chest cracked at the sight. It felt like the entire pack was there—maybe more. I was almost certain I recognized faces from my home pack, and that hurt worst of all.

“Holy shit,” Irene whispered, her face pale.

“We deserve better than a cheater for a Luna!” Olivia shouted into a megaphone. “It’s not fair that with the most powerful Lycan Chairman as our Alpha, we get a downgrade! We deserve an equally strong Luna!”

“What the hell is going on here?!” Gavin barked.

His voice thundered across the yard, forcing everyone to turn toward him. Some faces went pale. Some widened with fear. But no one stepped back.

“Alpha Landry,” Olivia called, standing front and center with the megaphone still in her hand. “As members of your pack, we formally object to the woman you’ve chosen as our future Luna. We believe Judy is a gold-digging whore who never once considered becoming a Luna—let alone trained for it. We deserve better than a wannabe like her.”
