Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3422
Andrew led Holtrien’s expeditionary forces back to Throne City. Knox also returned to reunite with the people of the Highland Tribe.
Meanwhile, Andrew spent another half month living quietly in Throne City.
During those two weeks, everyone’s injuries gradually healed, and life slowly returned to normal.
Philip eventually woke up and tried several times to request a meeting with Andrew.
But Andrew refused every time.
He had no interest in hearing what Philip wanted to say.
It was obvious that Philip intended to shift all of Holtrien’s burdens onto Andrew’s shoulders, but Andrew was not foolish enough to accept that responsibility.
The final battle was already over.
Andrew’s state of mind had completely opened up.
He no longer needed power or authority. His very existence now stood above such things.
The Dark Clans’ armies outside Azure Gate had already retreated. With the destruction of the Dark Council, the Dark Clans had lost their leadership, and there was no longer any reason to continue the confrontation.
The crisis between the Eastern and Western continents had been resolved.
Of course, the Three Great Empires would not easily abandon their ambitions.
Even so, Andrew paid them little attention.
As long as he lived, Holtrien would remain safe.
One bright, sunny morning, Andrew quietly left Throne City.
He brought only Nyx, Luna, Bridget, and Valerie—who had rushed over to join them.
Shiloh came as well.
They were essentially the women closest to him.
Together, they set out toward the Deadlands.
As for the affairs of Holtrien, Elio, Philip, and the others would naturally handle them. Andrew had no need to involve himself.
It was also worth mentioning that Arya—the archangel—had completely broken free from the control of darkness.
However, her holy light powers had vanished, leaving her an ordinary person.
Thanks to Nyx’s request, Andrew allowed Arya to settle in Throne City alongside Iridessa.
The Grand Cathedral had already learned that Arya was still alive. They sent word that a Scarlet Cardinal would personally travel to the Outlands to express their gratitude to Andrew.
But Andrew remained completely indifferent.
At this point, even if the Pope of Lomuia himself appeared before him—and Andrew asked the man to massage his shoulders—the Pope probably wouldn’t dare refuse.
Standing before the enormous underground abyss, Andrew gazed thoughtfully at the deep blue glow emanating from within.
On the other side of that chasm was undoubtedly another world.
When Andrew had first encountered the Vampire Queen, she had risen from this very place.
Still, none of that mattered to him anymore.
Andrew slowly floated into the air, facing the cliff wall where Reginald, Christopher, Marcato, and the others had once opened the entrance.
Then he raised his hand.
A massive sphere of energy shot forward and struck the cliff face.
The rock instantly softened, becoming almost fluid.
Soon, a swirling vortex formed in the air.
The entrance to the Veiled Paradise had been opened.
Unlike before—when Reginald and the others had needed to take turns exhausting their strength just to tear open the passage—Andrew alone pierced through the barrier.
And the opening remained remarkably stable.
Bridget looked into the swirling vortex and calmly said, “I’ll go in first.”
“Valerie, Luna—you follow right behind me.”
“As for Nyx and Shiloh, the two of you go with Andrew.”
No one spoke or objected.
One by one, they leaped into the vortex and disappeared.
Andrew was the last to step forward.
As soon as he entered, the vortex quietly closed behind him—
as if it had never existed at all.
