Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3398
Andrew’s expression hardened instantly.
“Force myself on you?” he repeated coldly.
The air between them seemed to freeze.
Bridget, who had been quietly standing nearby, suddenly felt the pressure in the courtyard grow heavier. Even though neither of them released their aura, the clash between these two terrifying beings was already suffocating.
Andrew stepped closer.
“Shiloh, you can deny me. You can push me away. But don’t twist what happened.”
Shiloh’s eyes flashed with anger.
“Oh? Then how would you describe it?”
Andrew looked straight at her.
“You were the one who pulled me into that cave during the blizzard. You were the one who said the poison in your body would kill you unless it was neutralized.”
Shiloh’s face stiffened slightly.
Andrew continued mercilessly.
“And you were the one who grabbed my collar and said, ‘If you walk away now, I’ll kill you before the poison does.’”
Bridget blinked.
She clearly hadn’t expected that.
Shiloh’s breathing grew slightly uneven.
“That was… because the situation forced me!”
Andrew let out a short laugh.
“Right. The situation forced you.”
He pointed in the direction Remyn had run off.
“But that child out there wasn’t forced into existence.”
For a brief moment, Shiloh’s cold composure cracked.
Andrew’s voice lowered.
“You may be an ancient legend. You may have lived for nearly a thousand years. But Remyn doesn’t care about any of that.”
“He only knows you’re his mother.”
Shiloh’s fingers clenched slightly.
Bridget finally spoke softly.
“Ms. Greene… if I may say something.”
Shiloh turned her gaze toward her.
Bridget bowed respectfully.
“I truly did meet you once when I was a child. Back then, you visited Rainveil Sect. I still remember how everyone treated you like a divine figure.”
She paused.
“But even divine figures… can have families.”
Shiloh’s expression remained cold, but her eyes flickered faintly.
Bridget continued gently.
“Remyn isn’t part of the thousand-year war between you and the Vampire Queen.”
“He’s simply a child who wants his mother.”
Silence fell again.
After a long moment, Shiloh finally spoke.
“My battle with the Vampire Queen cannot be delayed.”
Her voice was calm again, but quieter.
“For a thousand years, the two of us have been bound by fate. If she awakens completely and I do nothing… Holtrien will fall.”
Andrew folded his arms.
“No one is asking you to do nothing.”
Shiloh looked at him.
Andrew’s gaze was firm.
“You said this fight is between you and the Vampire Queen.”
“That’s fine.”
“But the war with the Dark Clans isn’t just yours.”
Bridget nodded in agreement.
“If Holtrien’s masters join forces, we can attack the Blood Sanctum while you confront the Vampire Queen. Your battle would become our signal.”
Shiloh’s brows knit slightly.
Andrew stepped closer again.
“You’ve carried this burden for a thousand years.”
“But this time… you don’t have to carry it alone.”
For the first time since the conversation started, Shiloh didn’t immediately argue.
Her eyes slowly shifted toward the distant horizon.
Somewhere far away…
An ancient, terrifying presence was awakening.
The Vampire Queen.
Shiloh finally spoke again.
“If Holtrien’s forces enter the Blood Sanctum… many of them will die.”
Andrew shrugged lightly.
“People die in war.”
Then he added quietly,
“But if we don’t fight now, even more will die later.”
Another long silence followed.
Finally, Shiloh exhaled softly.
“…Very well.”
Andrew raised an eyebrow.
She looked at him with a complicated expression.
“I will allow Holtrien’s forces to coordinate with my attack.”
Bridget’s face brightened slightly.
But Shiloh immediately added coldly,
“However, Andrew Lloyd…”
Andrew looked at her.
“You are not coming with me.”
Andrew smiled.
“We’ll see about that.”
Shiloh’s eyes narrowed.
“You think I can’t stop you?”
Andrew’s smile widened slightly.
“You can try.”
For a moment, the ancient Saintess of the Greene family and the descendant of Valerius Lloyd simply stared at each other.
The tension between them was thick enough to cut with a blade.
And far away…
Deep within the Blood Sanctum…
A pair of crimson eyes slowly opened in the darkness.
