Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3387
Shiloh sat quietly on the rock, the night wind brushing past her hair. The mountains stretched endlessly under the moonlight, silent witnesses to centuries she alone remembered.
For a long moment, she didn’t answer.
Andrew didn’t push her.
He simply sat a short distance away on another rock, resting Godslayer across his knees as if they were just two travelers pausing on a long road.
Finally, Shiloh spoke again.
“You talk too casually for someone addressing a person from your ancestor’s era.”
Andrew shrugged.
“I’ve never been good with formalities.”
She glanced sideways at him.
“Valerius wasn’t like that.”
Andrew smiled faintly.
“Yeah, well… I’m not Valerius.”
That much was obvious.
Valerius had been a warrior of her age—someone who understood the weight of ancient powers and old alliances. Andrew, by comparison, was a man born into a completely different world.
Yet somehow…
He had still climbed to the same heights.
Shiloh studied him for a moment longer before turning her gaze back toward the horizon.
“Holtrien is heading toward a storm,” she said quietly.
“The Dark Clans have already begun moving.”
Andrew nodded.
“I know.”
“The Blood Queen never moves without preparing the battlefield first,” Shiloh continued. “When she wakes, she hunts.”
Joe swallowed nervously behind them.
“…That’s comforting.”
Nyx elbowed him lightly.
“Relax. We’ve dealt with worse.”
Joe blinked.
“…Have we?”
Andrew ignored them and looked back at Shiloh.
“So what’s your plan?”
She answered without hesitation.
“Recover my full strength.”
“Then kill her.”
Her tone was simple.
As if she were talking about finishing an unfinished chore.
Andrew chuckled softly.
“Straightforward.”
Shiloh’s eyes narrowed slightly.
“You find that funny?”
“No,” Andrew said. “Just familiar.”
He leaned back slightly on his rock.
“You know, every time someone says they’re going to kill an ancient monster, it usually turns into a massive disaster.”
Shiloh crossed her arms.
“You doubt me?”
Andrew shook his head.
“No.”
He looked directly at her.
“I doubt that you’ll let me stay out of the fight.”
That made her pause.
For a second, the faintest trace of the old Shiloh—the one who had laughed and argued with him—flickered across her face.
“You’re stubborn,” she said.
“Always have been.”
Andrew grinned.
“Must run in the family.”
Nyx rolled her eyes.
“Alright, this is getting sentimental.”
She stepped forward and stretched.
“So what’s the plan now?”
Andrew stood up from the rock.
“We head back to Holtrien.”
Joe perked up slightly.
“Finally. I thought we were camping out here forever.”
Shiloh remained seated for a moment longer.
Then she stood slowly.
The aura around her had stabilized now—calm, deep, and frighteningly powerful.
A true Beyond Mortal presence.
She looked once more at the distant mountains.
Somewhere far beyond them…
Lilith Bathory had awakened.
And an old war was beginning again.
Shiloh finally spoke.
“Fine.”
Andrew raised an eyebrow.
“Fine?”
“I’ll return with you,” she said calmly.
“But only until I regain my full strength.”
Andrew smirked.
“Sure.”
Nyx whispered to Joe, “That’s basically a yes.”
Joe nodded.
“Yeah… the scary kind.”
Shiloh ignored them and started walking down the mountain path.
After a few steps, she added without looking back:
“And Andrew.”
“Try not to get killed before I decide whether or not to kill you myself.”
Andrew laughed under his breath.
“Fair enough.”
The four of them began their journey back toward Holtrien.
Behind them, the ruined vault of the Greene family faded into the shadows of history.
Ahead of them—
A war between ancient powers was about to begin.
