Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3386

The mountain wind swept quietly across the entrance of the vault as the group stepped outside. The night felt colder than before, as if the world itself had changed with the destruction of the Greene family’s thousand-year secret.

Shiloh stood a few steps away from the others, her silver hair shifting gently in the wind. Her posture was calm, but the distance around her felt enormous.

    Joe still looked shaken.

Andrew gave his shoulder a light squeeze before walking forward.

For a moment, neither of them spoke.

Then Andrew said quietly, “You’re angry.”

    Shiloh’s eyes shifted toward him.

    “Angry?” she repeated.

    “Maybe. Or maybe I’m just… clear-headed again.”

Her gaze moved to the distant mountains.

“For a very long time, my life was fragments. Faces without names. Battles without reasons. I walked through centuries like someone dreaming.”

    She paused.

“And during that dream… I met you.”

    Andrew didn’t interrupt.

“I became someone else,” she continued. “Someone simpler. Someone who could laugh, trust, and build a life.”

    Her expression tightened slightly.

“But now I remember the woman I actually am.”

The wind rustled the grass around them.

Nyx and Joe stayed several steps back, giving them space.

    Andrew finally spoke.

“And which one is the real you?”

    Shiloh didn’t answer immediately.

    Instead, she studied him carefully.

“You’re not afraid of me,” she said.

    Andrew shrugged slightly.

“I’ve fought warlords, cult leaders, and gods-in-training. You’re still just Shiloh.”

For the first time since her memories returned, a faint hint of amusement flickered in her eyes.

“That confidence will get you killed someday.”

    “Probably,” Andrew said.

    Then his voice softened slightly.

“But that doesn’t change the fact that you’re Remyn’s mother.”

The name hung quietly in the air.

    Shiloh’s expression shifted.

    Not anger.

    Not coldness.

    Something more complicated.

    “…Remyn,” she repeated.

    Andrew nodded.

    “He’s strong. Smart. And stubborn.”

A faint smile touched Andrew’s lips.

    “Definitely your child.”

Shiloh looked away again, but the tension in her shoulders eased just slightly.

After a long moment, she spoke again.

“You really plan to fight Lilith Bathory?”

    Andrew answered without hesitation.

    “Yes.”

    Shiloh turned back to him.

“Do you even understand who she is?”

    Andrew’s eyes sharpened.

    “I know enough.”

“She’s the queen of the Dark Clans, a creature older than most kingdoms, and one of the few beings in this world who has survived multiple eras of war,” Shiloh said flatly.

“Even a Beyond Mortal expert can die facing her.”

    Andrew’s answer was simple.

“Then we’ll make sure she’s the one who dies.”

    Silence followed.

    Shiloh studied him again.

    This time longer.

    More carefully.

    Finally, she sighed softly.

    “…You really haven’t changed.”

    Andrew smirked faintly.

“I’ll take that as a compliment.”

    Another pause passed.

    Then Shiloh spoke again.

“I will return to Holtrien with you.”

    Joe’s head snapped up immediately.

    “Really?!”

She ignored him and kept her eyes on Andrew.

    “But understand this.”

    “This isn’t because you asked.”

“It’s because I need time to recover my full strength before dealing with Lilith.”

    Andrew nodded.

    “Fair enough.”

Shiloh turned and began walking down the mountain path.

After a few steps, she added without looking back:

    “And Andrew…”

“Don’t assume the past we shared means anything to me yet.”

    Andrew chuckled quietly.

    “I wouldn’t dream of it.”

Nyx stepped beside him as they began following her down the trail.

    “…So,” she murmured.

“Your girlfriend just rebooted into ancient-warrior mode.”

    Andrew sighed.

    “Yeah.”

    Nyx smirked.

“And now you have to win her over all over again.”

Andrew glanced ahead at Shiloh’s distant figure.

The woman walking ahead carried centuries of history, battles, and enemies waiting to resurface.

    But he only shrugged.

“Wouldn’t be the first impossible fight I’ve taken on.”
