Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3383
Andrew planted his feet firmly in front of the stone platform, his greatsword angled slightly downward but ready to rise at any instant.
The Crimson Flame Lord rushed forward like a mad beast, dark energy raging wildly around him.
“Move!” he shrieked.
“This power is mine!”
Andrew didn’t move.
His voice was calm, almost bored.
“You still don’t understand.”
The Crimson Flame Lord slammed his palm forward, unleashing a crushing wave of black energy meant to obliterate everything in front of him.
Andrew raised his sword.
BOOM!
Primordial Thunder exploded again.
Red lightning tore through the chamber like a living dragon, shredding the incoming attack and colliding head-on with the Crimson Flame Lord.
The High Oracle staggered back several steps, his robes smoking.
But instead of weakening—
His aura surged again.
Stronger.
Wilder.
More unstable.
Andrew’s eyes sharpened.
“See?” he said quietly.
“The vault already gave you what you wanted.”
The Crimson Flame Lord’s grin twisted.
“And I’ll take even more.”
Behind them, Nyx was locked in a brutal clash with the two Guardians.
Steel flashed repeatedly as her blade moved like a storm.
CLANG!
She parried one halberd strike, spun, and drove her knee into the other Guardian’s chest before kicking him backward.
Joe jumped in to help, firing a barrage of strikes that forced the two Guardians to split their attention.
“Little busy here!” Joe shouted.
Meanwhile—
The Crimson Flame Lord charged Andrew again.
Their weapons collided with a deafening crash that shook loose chunks of stone from the ceiling.
Andrew pushed back with sheer force.
The Crimson Flame Lord laughed breathlessly.
“Do you feel it?!”
“This power is limitless!”
“No matter how strong you are, Dragon Prince—you can’t beat me now!”
Andrew said nothing.
Instead, his gaze flicked briefly toward the glowing stone platform behind him.
The golden sentence above it pulsed faintly.
This vault can grant whatever you desire…
…but don’t get greedy.
Andrew understood something now.
The vault didn’t simply grant wishes.
It balanced them.
The Crimson Flame Lord had demanded power.
The vault had given it.
But the more power it granted…
…the more it took something else in return.
Andrew watched carefully.
The High Oracle’s skin had already begun turning gray.
Thin cracks were forming along his arms like dried earth.
But the man was too drunk on power to notice.
The Crimson Flame Lord lunged again, screaming in rage.
Andrew met him head-on.
Their clash erupted like thunder.
BOOM!
Both men were thrown apart by the shockwave.
As the Crimson Flame Lord rose again, laughing hysterically—
A faint cracking sound echoed through the chamber.
At first it was barely noticeable.
Then another.
CRACK.
CRACK.
The Crimson Flame Lord froze.
He slowly looked down at his hands.
The cracks across his skin were spreading.
Dark energy leaked from them like smoke.
“…What?”
Andrew lowered his sword slightly.
His voice was calm.
“The price.”
The Crimson Flame Lord’s grin faltered.
“The vault didn’t make you stronger for free.”
The cracks spread across his chest.
Across his neck.
Across his face.
“You asked for absolute power,” Andrew continued.
“So it gave you power… beyond what your body can hold.”
The High Oracle’s eyes widened with sudden terror.
“No…”
Another crack split across his arm.
The dark aura around him spiraled out of control.
“NO!”
He turned wildly toward the platform.
“I take it back!”
“I TAKE IT BACK!”
But the ancient voice echoed once more through the chamber.
Cold.
Final.
“Wish fulfilled.”
“Transaction irreversible.”
The Crimson Flame Lord screamed as the power inside him began tearing him apart.
