Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3379
Joe, who had been quietly walking behind them, finally spoke up.
“So this treasure vault… it might contain a cure for you?”
Shiloh nodded slowly.
“Yes. At least that’s what the fragments of our family records suggest. The Greene family once had a secret technique that controlled life force and memory. If the full method still exists, it should be inside the vault.”
Nyx glanced at Andrew and raised an eyebrow.
“That sounds like something even the great Beyond Mortal expert can’t brute-force open.”
Andrew chuckled lightly.
“You’d be surprised what brute force can solve.”
Shiloh shook her head immediately.
“No. That’s exactly what we cannot do.”
She stopped walking and pointed toward the distant mountains ahead.
A jagged range of dark peaks rose into the sky like broken teeth. Thick mist coiled around the slopes, and the forest below looked strangely quiet.
“That valley is where the vault lies,” Shiloh said.
“But the entrance is sealed by the Greene family’s bloodline mechanism. If someone tries to break it by force, the entire vault will collapse.”
Joe whistled.
“Your ancestors really didn’t trust anyone.”
“They had good reason,” Shiloh replied quietly.
The group continued forward.
By the time dusk fell, they had reached the edge of the valley.
The air here felt different.
Even Andrew slowed down slightly as his sharp senses scanned the surroundings.
Something was wrong.
The forest was too quiet.
No birds.
No insects.
No wind.
Nyx’s hand slowly rested on the hilt of her blade.
“You feel that?”
Andrew nodded.
“We’re not alone.”
At that moment—
A slow clap echoed from the trees.
“Impressive.”
A man stepped out from behind the thick trunks, dressed in dark crimson robes embroidered with burning flame patterns.
Behind him, more figures appeared one after another.
Ten…
Twenty…
Thirty.
All of them wore the same crimson flame insignia.
Joe cursed under his breath.
“The Crimson Flame Cult.”
The man in front smiled coldly as his eyes swept across Andrew and the others before settling on Shiloh.
“Well, well…”
“We searched for this place for months.”
“And now the Greene family’s last descendant has kindly brought us here.”
Shiloh’s face turned icy.
“You’ve been following us.”
“Of course,” the man replied with a grin.
“After all, the legendary Greene vault…”
“How could our Crimson Flame Cult possibly miss such an opportunity?”
Andrew stepped forward calmly, placing himself slightly in front of Shiloh.
His voice was quiet but filled with killing intent.
“If you want the vault…”
He slowly lifted his greatsword.
“…you’ll have to step over my corpse first.”
For a moment, the valley fell silent.
Then the crimson-robed man burst out laughing.
“Andrew Lloyd.”
“The man who defeated countless masters and reached the Beyond Mortal realm.”
His eyes suddenly turned sharp.
“But do you really think…”
“…you’re the only Beyond Mortal here tonight?”
BOOM.
A terrifying aura exploded from behind the cultists as another figure slowly walked out from the shadows.
The ground beneath his feet cracked with every step.
Joe’s face immediately changed.
“…Damn.”
“Things just got interesting.”
