Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3375
Night fell, and darkness swallowed the land.
Inside Cliffside Gate, the strike team had already assembled.
Cormac and Asher personally led 500 elite fighters, preparing to circle behind the Three Emppires’ allied forces and wait for the right moment to strike. Meanwhile, Andrew would take a much smaller group, slip quietly out of Cliffside Gate, and launch a sudden assault on the enemy’s main camp.
Their role was to draw attention and create an opening for Cormac and Asher.
Since it was a stealth operation, absolute silence was critical.
The elite fighters stood in formation inside Cliffside Gate, fully armed—yet not a single sound could be heard.
Cormac whispered, “Andrew’s not here yet?”
Asher was about to respond when they heard footsteps approaching.
Andrew stepped forward with Shiloh and Nyx at his sides, all three already geared up for battle.
Cormac smiled. “Are we ready to move? Is Ms. Greene joining your team as well?”
Andrew nodded. “Shiloh wanted in. Honestly, having her with us gives us a huge advantage.”
Cormac said nothing, but he understood perfectly.
A martial artist at the peak of the martial god level was an asset capable of shifting the outcome of almost any battle.
In fact, the Cavendish royal family had once tried to recruit Shiloh themselves, but she had rejected the offer without hesitation.
Cormac had never pressed the issue—partly because he knew he did not hold a decisive edge over her in a fight, and partly because he preferred maintaining peaceful ties with the Greene family rather than creating unnecessary conflict.
Jakob would be moving out with Cormac’s unit.
As he lined up, however, his eyes drifted toward the two women standing beside Andrew—both strikingly beautiful and clearly formidable.
A bitter twist formed in his chest as he clenched his jaw, wondering when it would ever be his turn.
Asher grinned at Andrew. “Mr. Lloyd, does the split look good to you?”
Andrew quickly looked over the fifty men the Cavendish family had assigned to him, then nodded.
“Looks good. Your five hundred should move first since you’re taking the longer route. Once you’re nearly in position, we’ll head out. From that point on, we coordinate by signal.”
Cormac’s eyes lit up with excitement.
“Perfect. We’ll take the lead!”
He immediately issued the order.
Five hundred fighters slipped out of Cliffside Gate like ghosts, vanishing into the night without a single sound.
The gate itself had been thoroughly fortified by the Cavendish royal family. Andrew had no concerns about their ability to circle behind the enemy undetected.
Cormac and Asher had that side of the operation under control.
Andrew’s own group was guided by several of the family’s top experts, ensuring they could leave the gate just as quietly.
The real challenge would come later—after the attack began and they needed to withdraw safely.
Andrew conducted one last check of the formation before stepping to the front.
He glanced at Nyx and Shiloh.
“You two good?”
Nyx waved dismissively. “I’m perfectly fine. Not so sure about this one, though. Her legs looked a little shaky earlier. Hope she can keep up.”
She left the implication hanging in the air and shot Andrew a knowing glance.
Andrew pretended not to notice and turned to Shiloh with a casual smile.
“You alright?”
A faint blush touched Shiloh’s cheeks, but her voice remained steady.
“If Nyx is fine, then obviously I’m fine too.”
The subtle rivalry between the two women still lingered.
Soon, under the cover of night, Andrew led the fifty men out of Cliffside Gate.
The Three Empires’ allied forces were camped roughly thirty miles away.
Their army was so vast that even from the walls of Cliffside Gate, the distant glow of their campfires could be seen.
“Mr. Lloyd, please follow us,” one Cavendish expert said respectfully as he guided the group forward.
After traveling for some distance, Andrew realized they were moving along a route completely hidden from the enemy’s view.
From there, circling to the enemy’s flank and launching a surprise strike would be far easier.
Half an hour later, word arrived from Cormac—they were in position.
Andrew’s group also reached their designated location.
Lying low on a hillside, Andrew stared down at the massive allied camp spread out in the distance.
“If we charge directly, those several hundred yards between us will expose all fifty of us,” Nyx said quietly.
Having fought in numerous brutal battles overseas, she immediately recognized the weakness in their position.
If they could not move closer, the enemy would spot them the moment they advanced.
Yet the entire point of the mission was surprise.
If they were discovered too early, the attack would lose most of its impact.
The Cavendish expert beside them whispered, “This is the closest we can get. Any other position would put us even farther away.”
Everyone turned toward Andrew.
He thought for a moment before replying calmly, “Wait a little longer. It’s not like we’re out of options.”
The others looked puzzled but said nothing, choosing to trust his judgment.
Meanwhile, Nyx and Shiloh stood quietly off to the side together.
