Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3365
Nyx looked at him in surprise. “Honey, what do you mean by that? Who exactly is the Greene family’s Saintess, and how do you even know her?”
She was a woman, and her instincts were sharp. A quiet suspicion had already begun to form—this might be another one of Andrew’s women.
Andrew replied quickly, “Nyx, I’ll explain everything once we find Shiloh.”
Then he turned to Atticus. “Patriarch, could you arrange for someone to take me to her right now?”
Atticus froze for a moment before nodding. “Of course. She’s not far from here.
“She claims the Greene family’s hidden treasure is somewhere within our territory, which is why she’s here. Personally, I’ve always believed that’s just a cover story. I suspect she has another agenda entirely.” He smiled. “But if you can help us resolve this headache, Mr. Lloyd, the timing couldn’t be better.”
Asher immediately stepped forward. “Mr. Lloyd, I’ll take you there myself.”
Andrew nodded. “Good. Let’s go.”
Nyx was already on her feet.
“I’m coming too.”
Andrew didn’t try to stop her. With Asher leading the way, the three of them left the Cavendish royal family’s main base at once.
A few hours later, they arrived in the far northeastern reaches of Holtrien—a remote, largely untouched region where few people ever ventured.
Asher gestured ahead. “That fortified mountain stronghold up there is where Cormac has been holding the standoff with the Greene family’s Saintess. It’s also one of our family’s key defensive outposts against outside threats.”
By the time he finished speaking, they had already stepped inside.
From the outside, it looked like a simple mountain fortress. In reality, it was an entire military garrison staffed by Cavendish warriors.
They found Cormac quickly. He was rallying his men when Asher called out, “Cormac!”
“Asher, you’re back!”
Cormac spun around, and the moment he saw Asher, relief and disbelief flashed across his face.
But when his gaze landed on Andrew and Nyx behind him, his expression shifted.
Asher smiled and quickly explained. “Cormac, the Cavendish family and Mr. Lloyd are on the same side now. Back at Cliffside Gate earlier, Mr. Lloyd came through for us in a big way.”
He went on to recount everything—from Andrew’s journey north to everything that had happened—until Cormac had the full picture.
Cormac wasn’t wearing a mask this time.
He stood tall and composed, the kind of man whose very posture radiated elite martial ability. His temples were prominent, and his eyes carried a sharp, unwavering focus.
Once he finished listening, he broke into a broad grin and walked straight toward Andrew, extending his hand.
“Andrew, thank you for letting go of any hard feelings between us. The fact that we were able to move past all that and stand on the same side means a lot.”
Andrew smiled and shook his hand. “As long as you’re not still upset about me putting you down back in Chetvine, we’re good.”
Cormac blushed slightly and laughed awkwardly. “That was on me. You were simply better. And honestly, I was out of line back then. I had no idea you’d already broken through to the Beyond Mortal realm. That completely caught me off guard.”
Andrew waved it off. “Let’s leave that in the past. Can you take me to the Greene family’s Saintess now?”
Cormac nodded. “I can—but be careful. She’s not someone you should underestimate.
“Two years ago, when I first crossed paths with her, she had just reached the Martial God level. And now, only two years later, she’s already at the peak of that realm.
“On top of that, the Greene family has their own unique combat techniques and a few other tricks up their sleeve. To be honest, I can’t say with full confidence that I could overpower her.”
Andrew was mildly surprised. He hadn’t expected Shiloh’s strength to grow so quickly in just two years.
Still, he wasn’t uneasy.
Shiloh was his woman.
Ever since returning to Holtrien, he had been looking for her. But one situation after another had kept him too busy to track her down personally. In the meantime, he had quietly asked around about her whereabouts.
Running into her here, on Cavendish territory, was the last thing he had expected.
Cormac noticed the softened look in Andrew’s eyes and asked curiously, “It really seems like you know her personally. Are you two actually that close?”
Nyx answered before anyone else could.
With a cold laugh, she said, “Something tells me ‘close’ is a serious understatement. It’s more like they’re close enough to have spent some time together—if you know what I mean.”
She wasn’t normally the jealous type. But since arriving in Holtrien, the sheer number of women in Andrew’s life had genuinely caught her off guard.
She had gradually gotten to know them all, warmed up to them, and things had finally begun to feel like one big, comfortable circle.
Yet now, out of nowhere, another one had appeared.
Even with Nyx’s easygoing nature, she couldn’t help but wonder—at the rate Andrew was going, would his body even hold up by the time he was old?
Andrew let out a helpless smile. “Cormac, Shiloh and I… well, yeah, we’re pretty close. At the very least, she listens to me.”
Cormac’s expression shifted from confusion to astonishment to full admiration in the span of two seconds.
“I’d heard the rumors that you’ve got quite a few remarkable women around you—and that somehow every beautiful woman ends up having a soft spot for you.”
He laughed. “After meeting Ms. Kerrigan and General Phelan, I believed every word of it. But Ms. Greene too? That woman is a force of nature, and you’ve somehow won her over as well. Andrew, your martial arts are decent—but your game with the ladies? Legendary.”
Asher immediately chimed in with a grin. “Exactly! Cormac and I are both still single! There are plenty of beautiful women in the world, but women like Ms. Kerrigan and Ms. Greene—strong, stunning, the full package—are incredibly rare.
“Mr. Lloyd, you’re basically hoarding all the good ones and leaving nothing for the rest of us.”
While the three men laughed and teased each other, they had already crossed to the far side of the mountain stronghold.
Cormac pointed toward a small two-story building.
“Right now, the Cavendish family and Ms. Greene have reached a temporary agreement. She’s searching for the Greene family’s hidden treasure, but she agreed to coordinate with us before taking any action.
“From what I can tell, she’s not even sure she has the correct location yet. Since I didn’t want any conflict with her, I had her and her people stay here for the time being.”
Andrew was already striding toward the building.
“Thanks for that. I’ll go check on Shiloh first.”
Nyx stomped her foot in mild annoyance but followed him anyway.
When Andrew reached the entrance of the two-story building, he was immediately stopped.
“Who are you? Ms. Greene isn’t seeing anyone,” one of the guards said, blocking the doorway. “If you’re from the Cavendish family, she’ll only meet with Cormac. Everyone else, please leave.”
Andrew smiled to himself.
Shiloh hadn’t changed at all. She was still as cold and distant as ever, keeping the world at arm’s length.
He also found himself wondering about her condition—her ageless syndrome, the memory loss. Had it gotten better… or worse?
“My name is Andrew Lloyd,” he said gently. “I’m a friend of hers.”
The guard didn’t move.
But from inside, someone had clearly heard the name.
A moment later, hurried footsteps rushed toward the door.
“Stand aside and let Mr. Lloyd in—now!”
A handsome face appeared in front of Andrew. The man looked exhausted, his features marked by the quiet wear of years of hardship.
He stared at Andrew with a complicated mix of emotions—and a flicker of excitement.
“Andrew. It’s been a long time.”
Andrew took one look at him and broke into a genuine smile.
“Mr. Driscoll. It really has been.”
It was Joe Driscoll.
He had once been tied to the Driscoll family back in Blumedale. After Andrew dismantled that family entirely, Joe had left with Shiloh and never looked back.
Andrew had always known Joe harbored feelings for Shiloh, though Shiloh had never given him a clear answer.
And then there was that night at Swordhaven Keep, when the Godslayer had emerged.
In the chaos and confusion of that moment, Andrew had ended up sleeping with Shiloh.
Thinking back on it now, it felt like many years had passed, with countless events unfolding in between.
The Joe standing before him now was no longer the same man. He had grown into someone fully mature.
Andrew couldn’t help feeling a wave of emotion.
“You’re here for Shiloh, aren’t you?” Joe said. “She’s upstairs.”
Without hesitation, he stepped aside and gestured for Andrew to enter.
There had once been a hint of rivalry between them.
But now, none of that remained.
Andrew nodded. “Thank you.”
