Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3363

Jakob crossed his arms. “Andrew, you just admitted yourself that this is a gamble. If it’s already a risk—especially one that involves sending our best people on a surprise raid—can we really move forward like it’s nothing? What if we walk straight into a trap?”

Andrew looked at him with open contempt.

“If everyone thought like you—second-guessing every move and shrinking back at the first sign of risk—nothing worth doing would ever get done.

“Let me ask you something. Do you think pushing your limits in martial training isn’t a gamble? Do you think breaking through to a higher realm doesn’t carry the risk of your body collapsing entirely?

“So what’s your alternative? Sit back, do nothing, and let the enemy take complete control later?

“Because waiting around to die isn’t a gamble, right? Is that seriously your logic?”

Jakob snapped his mouth shut, furious but unable to respond.

When it came to military strategy and warfare, he was completely out of his depth. His personal combat strength was respectable, but beyond that, he was nothing more than an amateur.

    Andrew’s voice turned icy.

“Jakob, you’re not in any position to question my tactics. Are we clear?

“Back when I was with the Divine Dragon Order, I was personally leading Iron Cavalry units into battle. You, on the other hand—like I already said—were probably off somewhere running errands.

“So just listen and follow orders.”

Jakob burned with anger and desperately wanted to fire back just to prove he mattered, but he had no ground to stand on. After witnessing Andrew’s strength firsthand, he had no intention of provoking him again without reason.

    Atticus finally spoke.

“Forming an elite strike team isn’t a problem for the Cavendish family right now. However, whoever leads it must have the ability to get that team into the allied camp of the three empires.

“Forgive my ignorance, but I genuinely don’t see how we would accomplish that.”

    Andrew smiled slightly.

“Patriarch, it’s actually not that complicated. We split into two groups and use the terrain outside Cliffside Gate to our advantage.

“One group launches a diversionary attack from one direction—enough noise and pressure to throw the allied camp into chaos.

“Then the second group moves in from behind, strikes hard, eliminates as many enemies as possible, and destroys whatever they can.

“We’ll take casualties—no doubt about it. But we will achieve our strategic objective.”

Asher broke into a wide grin. “Brilliant. That’s absolutely brilliant.”

The other senior members of the Cavendish royal family nodded in agreement, smiles appearing across their faces.

    Atticus nodded as well.

“Then we’ll proceed exactly as you described, Mr. Lloyd.

“However, I do have one small request. I’d like you to take full command of this operation.”

Andrew immediately understood the reasoning behind the request. They wanted to maximize the raid’s chances of success by putting him directly in charge.

    But he shook his head.

“Patriarch, it wouldn’t be appropriate for an outsider like me to command the Cavendish family’s warriors. Don’t worry—I’ll participate. But the leader of the operation should come from your own family.”

Asher quickly interjected. “Mr. Lloyd, that’s not an issue at all. Everyone here is willing to follow your command. You have the full trust of the Cavendish family.”

    Andrew remained firm.

“I appreciate that, but the answer is still no. I already have the right person in mind.

    “Cormac should lead this operation.”

Asher and the others exchanged glances, faint frowns appearing on their faces. They didn’t argue further and instead looked toward Atticus.

Atticus let out a soft sigh.

“The problem is that Cormac is currently tied up with something urgent and may not be able to leave immediately. It’s a bit… inconvenient.

“I’ll contact him and see whether he can put it aside for now.”

    Jakob frowned in confusion.

“Patriarch, is there really something happening for the Cavendish family right now that’s more important than dealing with the combined forces of three empires?”

    Atticus gave a rueful smile.

“Honestly, in the grand scheme of things, it’s not that significant.

“There’s a clan in Holtrien’s martial world—the Greene family. Most of you have probably heard of them.

“Recently, the Greene family’s Saintess arrived in Cavendish territory with a group of her people. From what we can tell, they’re searching for something important.

“Cormac went out to negotiate with them to make sure the Greene family doesn’t stir up trouble on our land.

“Unfortunately, the Saintess isn’t easy to deal with. Her martial strength is exceptional, and Cormac has been having a difficult time holding his ground in the negotiations.”

    Jakob snorted dismissively.

“The Greene family? Yeah, I’ve heard of them. If we really wanted to deal with them, they’re just remnants. It wouldn’t be difficult.”

No one noticed that Andrew’s expression had completely changed.

He suddenly shot to his feet with a loud thud and spoke in a deep voice.

“Patriarch, take me to see the Saintess immediately.

    “She’s one of my people.”

The moment those words left his mouth, every person at the table wore an expression that was absolutely priceless.
