Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3353
Asher was the first to step through the doors.
But instead of approaching Atticus or greeting the elders, he moved aside and made a respectful gesture behind him.
“Mr. Lloyd. Ms. Kerrigan. Please—come in.”
Andrew and Nyx entered the Cavendish family stronghold, instantly surrounded by nearly all of the family’s top experts. Hostile stares locked onto them from every direction.
Andrew remained composed. He walked straight to the far end of the grand hall and stopped.
“Patriarch Atticus,” he greeted evenly, “I’m Andrew of the Lloyd royal family.”
Atticus fixed him with a cold stare, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes. He said nothing.
The Cavendish martial god who had spoken earlier gave a frosty snort.
“Mr. Lloyd, quite the entrance—walking alone into the Cavendish stronghold. Do you think we’re not worth worrying about? Or are you just that confident?”
Andrew’s expression didn’t change.
“I didn’t come to cause trouble. I came to assist the Cavendish family in resisting the three empires outside.”
The martial god sneered. “You? Help us? Out of the goodness of your heart? You really expect us to believe that?”
Andrew glanced at him coolly.
“Whether you believe it or not is your choice. What I decide to do isn’t for you to dictate.”
The martial god let out another cold laugh as his aura flared.
Andrew didn’t move an inch.
And despite the surge of pressure, the man didn’t dare make a reckless move.
At that moment, Atticus finally spoke.
“Andrew, I once had a decent relationship with your father, Reginald. We traveled across Holtrien together more than once. Which makes it all the more surprising that you and my family can’t seem to get along.”
His voice turned firmer.
“My third brother, Asher, was detained by you. It may not seem significant to some, but the Cavendish family expects an explanation.”
Andrew smiled faintly.
“My explanation is simple. Asher is standing right here. I returned him unharmed. If you don’t trust my word, Patriarch, ask him yourself.
“As for how the misunderstanding began, the details are clear. Back in Chetvine, Asher and Cormac stepped in while I was in the middle of dealing with Guillermo. In the chaos, I couldn’t distinguish friend from foe, so I reacted. If that offended you or your family, Patriarch Atticus, then I apologize.”
No one had expected him to be this measured.
The Cavendish members exchanged puzzled looks.
An elder spoke up. “Asher. Tell us plainly—were you harmed while in his custody?”
Asher answered without hesitation.
“I was perfectly fine. Not a single thing happened to me. Andrew treated me well. In fact, I was the one who insisted on inviting him here to the Cavendish family.”
The moment the words left his mouth, confusion rippled through the hall.
They had been watching Andrew like hawks, waiting for Asher to list grievances or reveal some hidden suffering. They had been ready to act the instant he did.
Instead, the man who had been detained for days stood there looking almost cheerful—like Andrew’s most vocal supporter.
Asher was the third-strongest figure in the Cavendish family—a true heavyweight.
And now the entire hall was left stunned.
Had he truly abandoned his pride so completely?
