Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3345
Andrew’s expression remained icy.
“Alfredo is supposed to be the successor of Sword Sect, and he’s hiding behind the walls of Azure Gate doing nothing? What is he—too scared to come out and fight?”
Franz forced a bitter smile. “He’s probably still holding a grudge. When we returned to the country, you humiliated him. He hasn’t let it go.”
Andrew’s voice was flat. “Then I’ll go remind him where he stands. That sword-swinging fool is watching his own people die and doing nothing. Looks like I went too easy on him last time.”
With that, he carried his sword alone and strode straight into Swordhaven Keep.
The gates had been closed to all visitors. But the moment Alfredo’s disciples saw Andrew, their faces drained of color. Not one of them dared block his path. Even Alfredo’s sons lowered their heads and stepped aside.
Andrew walked directly into the main hall.
Alfredo was seated comfortably, polishing his sword with his head down. Without looking up, he said impatiently, “I told you I’m not seeing anyone. Why are you still bothering me? Do you have a death wish?”
Andrew sneered. “You’re the one with a death wish.”
He stepped forward and slashed out.
Startled, Alfredo instantly erupted in rage. He raised his sword to block and shouted, “Andrew, don’t push it too far! Whether Swordhaven Keep joins this war is my decision. Who do you think you are, forcing me? Do you think I have no pride?”
Andrew struck again, driving him back into a corner.
His face was expressionless, his tone cold. “Mr. Topsfield, your pride means nothing to me. To me, you’re just a clown.”
“How dare you!” Alfredo roared.
With a thunderous crash, Andrew’s greatsword came down and smashed Alfredo to the floor, pinning him there. Sweat poured down Alfredo’s face as fury twisted his features.
“Andrew, don’t go too far!” he shouted desperately.
The last time Andrew had confronted him—right after returning to the country—he had already been humiliated beyond measure. This time, Alfredo had locked himself away in protest, determined to prove he couldn’t be coerced.
Andrew looked down at him coldly. “Don’t force me to kill you. This is your last chance. The Eight Ancient Sects that should be on the battlefield are already there. Swordhaven Keep will not be the exception.”
“Julius, Byron, and Guillermo are dead. Do you want to join them?”
Alfredo’s mind went blank. “Y-You killed them? Andrew, you—”
Andrew smiled, but there was no warmth in it. “What? You want to ask how I could do that? Right now, I’m thinking about killing you too. So tell me—are you going to fight, or not?”
“I’d rather die than be threatened!” Alfredo roared.
Andrew’s greatsword surged with overwhelming force and drove Alfredo straight into the golden floor tiles. Then Andrew stepped on him—once, twice—grinding him into the ground.
Alfredo choked and spat out mouthfuls of blood.
Humiliated and furious, he rasped, “Andrew… are you really going to keep doing this to me?”
Andrew didn’t answer. He simply struck Alfredo in the chest with a palm.
Alfredo coughed up blood again—and finally understood.
In Andrew’s hands, he was nothing but prey.
“You’ve… already broken through to Beyond Mortal…” Alfredo’s eyes widened in shock. “W-Wait! Don’t kill me! I’ll join the war. I’ll fight!”
Just like that, the defiance drained out of him.
Andrew’s smile turned chilling. “Now you agree? Don’t you think it’s a little late?”
Outside the hall, the disciples of Swordhaven Keep suddenly heard a piercing scream.
Every one of them went pale.
Their master—the untouchable, towering figure they once believed invincible—was being crushed inside.
