Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3344
To the east of Holtrien stood Azure Gate.
A savage battle had erupted at the mouth of the pass. The Dark Clans’ army attacked with a ferocity unlike anything seen before, wave after wave slamming into the defenses without pause. As overall commander, Philip had no choice but to step onto the battlefield himself.
Deep within the Dark Clans’ encampment, two figures watched from the shadows.
One was Andrew’s old enemy, Ragnar—the werewolf progenitor. The other was Jorge—the vampire progenitor. Both had personally come to oversee the war.
Yet neither dared to unleash their full strength.
The most ancient being of the Dark Clans—the Vampire Queen—had awakened. She could descend onto the battlefield at any moment. Even the two progenitors felt a faint, instinctive unease.
Jorge’s hoarse voice broke the silence. “The Queen has never cared about mortal wars. But this time, she personally ordered the attack on Holtrien. It seems she intends to settle the grudge from a thousand years ago.”
Ragnar let out a cold snort. “The Vampire Queen is the supreme ruler of your bloodline. A thousand years ago, she was killed by Eastern martial artists and forced into slumber. Now that she’s awake and hungry for revenge, why drag us werewolves into it?”
Jorge replied evenly, “Why don’t you ask Her Majesty yourself?”
Ragnar—usually savage and fearless—fell silent at once. A flicker of caution crossed his eyes.
After a brief pause, his tone turned ruthless. “The feud between our Western races and Holtrien has lasted a thousand years. Since it’s come to this, we might as well finish it. Wipe them out completely.”
“Too many prodigies have risen in Holtrien,” he continued. “First Reginald. Now his son, Andrew. We’ve both faced him. He must die.”
Jorge’s expression darkened. “I’ve been watching Andrew closely. The moment he shows himself on this battlefield, I’ll kill him with my own hands.”
Ragnar nodded. “The disciples of Holtrien’s Eight Ancient Sects are entering the battlefield one after another. Good. Once they’re all here, we’ll crush them together. We’ll erase the bloodline of their ancient sects entirely.”
“From then on, no Eastern martial artist will ever stand against the Dark Clans again. And this thousand-year feud will finally be buried.”
The main forces attacking Azure Gate were werewolves, vampires, and sirens.
Aside from Marcato, none of the sirens’ elite were qualified to stand alongside Jorge and Ragnar. No one approached the two progenitors to discuss strategy. The troops simply followed orders and charged forward as expendable shock forces.
On another front, the armies of the three great Western Empires stood in formation, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Holtrien had grown stronger year after year. It had already become a threat. Even if they couldn’t secure total victory in this sudden war, they intended to weaken Holtrien’s national strength for at least thirty years.
The nation had risen too fast, producing powerful figures one after another.
In their eyes, it was time for a reset.
When Andrew and his group finally arrived at Azure Gate, the sight before them was brutal.
The fighting was still raging—bloodier and more chaotic than they had anticipated.
Andrew didn’t hesitate.
He immediately ordered the Harmony Sect disciples to rush forward and reinforce the front lines.
As for himself, he remained still.
At his level, once he made a move, it had to be against a key strategic figure. Otherwise, there was no point.
“Are all the Eight Ancient Sects here?” Andrew asked Franz.
Franz replied, “Madam Ashford of Rainveil Sect has arrived. Umbral Peak Sect, Divine Alchemists, Harmony Sect, and Thunder Sect are all present.”
“The remaining three are still on their way. Mount Lourneau has the largest number of disciples and the longest distance to travel. As for Sword Sect—Alfredo’s side—they’re still observing. They haven’t committed yet.”
