Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3343

Andrew said coldly, “Harmony Sect doesn’t need to respect me. It just needs to serve the country. And let me make one thing clear—I’ve never had much patience for the Eight Ancient Sects. I killed the patriarch of the Umbral Peak Sect. I killed Julius Bowen of the Divine Alchemists.

“But here, I held back. Because at the end of the day, we’re supposed to stand on the same side. I’ve given you leeway again and again. And yet Madam Fontaine, Elder Cantino—you both seem to think I’m someone you can bully.

“Do you really want to force me to use violence?”

Giovanni’s face turned ashen. The other Harmony Sect masters felt the terrifying surge of power rising from Andrew’s body, and their expressions shifted instantly.

Dorothy hurried forward. “Mr. Lloyd, please. You’ve won. And yes, the disgraceful move came from Harmony Sect first. But no matter what, you owe Charlotte. She suffered because of you.

“She’s the most outstanding disciple in our sect, and you didn’t even spare her a glance. If word spreads, how will people see Harmony Sect? How will they see Charlotte? They’ll say she’s worthless—that even if she stripped naked, no one would want her.”

Andrew let out a cold laugh. “Madam Fontaine, you really don’t know when to stop.”

He found her exhausting. Still, he had no intention of pushing things further. Most of the Harmony Sect disciples had already gone down the mountain.

“I’ll compensate Ms. Easterling and apologize,” he said calmly. “Everything you did was to help her break through to the Martial God level, wasn’t it? Fine. I can help her reach it myself.”

Dorothy’s eyes lit up. “Truly? You’re willing to dual cultivate with Charlotte?”

Andrew shook his head. “Not dual cultivation. I’ll use my own method to elevate her to Martial God.”

Dorothy frowned slightly. “That kind of method is rare. Are you certain it will work?”

“It worked for my people,” Andrew replied evenly. “Ms. Easterling is talented. She’ll succeed too. If she fails, you can hold me accountable.”

Joy flashed across Dorothy’s face, as if she had stumbled upon hope after hitting a dead end. Harmony Sect’s path had always revolved around paired cultivation. The idea that another method could achieve the same result had never even crossed her mind.

Charlotte’s cheek was still red from Dorothy’s slap. Through her tears, she shook her head stubbornly.

“Forget it, Madam Fontaine. If you want to punish me, then punish me. I won’t obey your arrangements anymore. You all treat me like a tool. If you really can’t stand me, then just kill me.”

Dorothy’s brows shot up in fury. “Insolent girl! Don’t test my patience. Everything I did was for your own good. Mr. Lloyd, I’ll leave Charlotte to you. Help her break through first. We’ll wait outside. Once it’s done, we’ll head down and meet the others at Azure Gate.”

    Andrew nodded. “Please wait outside.”

Dorothy forced a smile and shot Charlotte a subtle, warning glance before leading the others out.

When the door closed, Andrew said gently, “Ms. Easterling, I’m sorry. I didn’t expect you’d be punished because of me.”

Charlotte lay face down on the bed, shoulders trembling as she sobbed harder.

Andrew stepped forward and lightly patted her shoulder. “Come on. I’ll help open your meridians. I’ll channel my energy through them and give you the push you need to break into the Martial God realm.”

Charlotte lifted her tear-streaked face. “You’re not lying this time, are you?”

Andrew sighed softly. “No. I had no choice before. It was a split-second decision.”

Charlotte wiped her tears. “When I said I wanted to be your woman, I meant it. In the sect, no one cared about me—only whether I could break through quickly and inherit Madam Fontaine’s position. Elder Cantino and the others were always waiting for me to dual cultivate with them. But I didn’t want my body touched by them. Even so… I had no choice.”

    Her voice broke again.

Andrew asked quietly, “Then why were you willing to let me touch you? If you guard yourself so fiercely, no one should be able to get close.”

Charlotte bit her lip, her voice barely audible. “You’re different. And I’m willing.”

Andrew froze. “You really feel that way? Why?”

She looked at him, tears shimmering in her eyes, her cheeks flushed. “I don’t know. But you make me feel safe. My heart says you’re a good man. You’re exceptional in every way. Even when you saw me like that, you didn’t look at me the way other men do. Mr. Lloyd… will you take me with you? I don’t want to stay in Harmony Sect anymore.”

A faint chill ran across Andrew’s scalp. He never expected her to see him as a good man. But even if he were, he couldn’t accept someone’s lifelong devotion at first meeting.

“Charlotte,” he said gently, “let’s not talk about that now. If you don’t want to stay in Harmony Sect, that’s not a problem. Once you’re strong enough, the world is yours. You can go wherever you want.”

Then he began guiding her through the breakthrough.

Charlotte truly was a rare talent. With Andrew’s assistance, the process flowed naturally. Within half an hour, a new surge of power coursed through her body.

Overjoyed, she turned and tried to kiss him.

Andrew stopped her. “Don’t move. Stabilize your realm first.”

Tears welled in her eyes again. “Is something wrong with me? Or do you just not like me?”

He smiled wryly. “It’s neither. Feelings between a man and a woman can’t be forced. Don’t worry. Madam Fontaine won’t pressure you anymore. And if she does, I’ll step in. You’re talented. Train well—one day, you may even surpass her.”

Charlotte said quietly, “I still want to be your woman. Not because of your energy. My cultivation can benefit you too.”

Andrew’s heart stirred. He remembered Bridget’s words—that advancing in the Heaven and Earth’s Five Elements would be faster through intimacy. Charlotte’s unique constitution would indeed complement that path.

But he suppressed the thought. Some things had to unfold naturally.

“It’s time to go down the mountain,” he said softly. “You’re a good person. Once you see more of the world, I believe your feelings will change.”

Charlotte gave a bitter smile. She understood he would not yield.

After bowing respectfully, she said, “Thank you, Mr. Lloyd. I won’t give up.”

Then she pushed the door open and stepped outside.

Dorothy and the others had been waiting anxiously. After examining Charlotte’s condition, they were overjoyed and thanked Andrew repeatedly.

Andrew had little interest in their praise. With a casual wave of his hand, he led the remaining Harmony Sect elders down the mountain.
