Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3337
Charlotte said softly, “Mr. Lloyd, please come sit on the bed.”
Andrew frowned. “According to Madam Fontaine, as long as I don’t fall for your temptation, I pass. So whether I sit on the bed or not shouldn’t matter.”
Charlotte bit her lip. “If you don’t come to the bed, how can we begin? And if we don’t begin, how can I tempt you?”
Andrew hadn’t expected that kind of logic. He let out a cold laugh, set the Godslayer aside, and walked over, sitting on the edge of the bed.
Charlotte slowly turned halfway, revealing a flawless profile. Her skin was smooth and luminous, without a single visible pore. A few strands of hair brushed against her ear, softening her features and giving her a delicate air. When she fully faced him, Andrew took in the whole picture. Her beauty was natural and unadorned, expressive in an effortless, captivating way. She was undeniably stunning, though her temperament was gentler than the others.
She didn’t have Lauren’s commanding aura, Nyx’s dominance, Valerie’s spoiled charm, or Luna’s sharp intellect. Still, she was unquestionably a top-tier beauty.
Andrew smiled lightly. “Ms. Easterling, you truly are beautiful. With that said, I’ll be taking my leave.”
He stood as if he genuinely intended to walk out.
Charlotte stared at him in shock. “You don’t want to touch me?”
“Why would I?” Andrew replied calmly.
She frowned, clearly confused. “I practice the Art of Seduction. Before I even reveal my true face, I’ve already set the trap—through my movements, even my scent. The moment a man truly sees me, he always falls. It has never failed. Yet you’re completely unaffected. That doesn’t make sense.”
Her confusion seemed sincere, and strangely, that improved Andrew’s impression of her.
She was nothing like Dorothy, whose emotions were unreadable. Everything showed plainly on Charlotte’s face. She seemed naive at heart, even though she’d grown up in the Harmony Sect and had never been taught that undressing in front of a man was intimate. To her, it was simply part of training.
Andrew cleared his throat. “Ms. Easterling, you should put your clothes back on. Maybe you tried to tempt me in subtle ways, but I still have some self-control.”
Charlotte smiled brightly. “I don’t believe that.”
Suddenly, she threw herself at him and exhaled sharply. A pink mist rushed straight into his nose.
Instantly, Andrew felt his vision blur and his thoughts grow heavy. Shock flickered across his face. Could the Harmony Sect’s special powder actually affect him?
At once, holy light surged through his veins. At the same time, he grabbed her shoulders and pushed her away.
Charlotte let out a soft cry and looked at him resentfully, as if he had failed to appreciate romance.
Andrew stood, shook his head, and said calmly, “It’s pointless.”
Charlotte stared at him in horror. “Madam Fontaine said no man in the world can resist Soul Snare Powder. How are you completely fine?”
Growing impatient, Andrew replied, “Do you have any other tricks? If not, I’m leaving.”
Charlotte clenched her teeth. “I’m offering myself to you for free. Why don’t you want me?”
Andrew shook his head. “No means no. There’s no special reason.”
Tears welled up in Charlotte’s eyes. “Please, just accept me. If I can’t complete Madam Fontaine’s order, she’ll punish me.”
Any other man, seeing her vulnerable and on the verge of tears, might have given in out of sympathy. But Andrew remained unmoved. He knew this was part of the Harmony Sect’s methods.
“Ms. Easterling, don’t be afraid,” he said calmly. “I’ll speak to Madam Fontaine. I’ll tell her this isn’t your fault. I believe she’ll show me that much respect.”
Charlotte rushed toward him again, forcing a smile. “Mr. Lloyd, have you ever seen a woman as beautiful as me?”
“I have plenty around me,” Andrew replied.
She froze, then her voice sharpened. “But have you ever met a woman who could make you feel pleasure the way I can?”
Andrew’s expression turned faintly odd. “The women by my side are quite skilled as well.”
Her face flushed red with anger. “Then you must want something new. Haven’t you grown tired of them after so long?”
Andrew shook his head. “I haven’t. And even if I did, I’d grow tired of you even faster. So please, have some self-respect.”
Charlotte gritted her teeth. “Andrew, what if I insist? You don’t have to care about cultivating with me. You don’t even have to be willing. Just give me your essence—and then we’re done.”
