Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3332
After a full day of nonstop travel, Andrew and his group crossed more than half of Holtrien and finally reached the mountain range where the Harmony Sect was hidden.
The moment they stepped into its territory, Valerie gasped. “This place is absolutely stunning!”
Eric’s voice turned cold. “Yeah, it’s beautiful. But with this many beautiful women waiting for us, is this a warm welcome… or are they just resting comfortably while we walk straight into a trap?”
“Harmony Sect welcomes the Lloyd family’s Dragon Prince and his honored guests!”
Hundreds of Harmony Sect disciples—every single one of them a woman—spoke in perfect unison. Led by a breathtaking beauty at the front, they bowed gracefully toward Andrew and his group.
The scene caught everyone off guard, including Andrew. They had prepared for confrontation, for a fight—at the very least, a tense standoff.
Instead, they were greeted with a reception so elaborate it felt almost unreal.
Even Andrew was momentarily thrown.
He stepped forward and addressed the woman at the front. “Excuse me. Would you happen to be Madam Dorothy Fontaine, the head of Harmony Sect?”
The woman’s eyes lit up as she looked Andrew over, clearly pleased with what she saw.
“I’m Dorothy Fontaine,” she replied softly, her voice almost coy. “And it’s my pleasure to welcome you, Mr. Andrew Lloyd.”
Andrew gave her a respectful nod.
“Madam Fontaine, we came in such a rush that I didn’t bring a proper gift. I sincerely apologize. Once things settle and you visit Chetvine, the Lloyd family and I will absolutely make it up to you.”
Dorothy covered her mouth and laughed lightly, the sound melodic and sweet. “Mr. Lloyd, you’re far too kind. You’re on our turf now. If anyone should be playing host, it’s us.”
She gestured gracefully. “Please, everyone—come in.”
With Dorothy leading the way, Andrew and his group followed her into the lush, fragrant valley where Harmony Sect was nestled.
Nyx, Valerie, and Rowan stared around in open amazement. The scenery was almost too perfect to be real.
Nyx sighed dreamily. “I feel like I just walked into the Garden of Eden.”
Valerie laughed softly. “Nyx, we’re in Holtrien. We don’t really do the Garden of Eden here. If anything, this looks like something straight out of a fairy tale.”
Jerome quickened his pace and fell into step beside Andrew, lowering his voice.
“Andy, something about the scent of these flower petals doesn’t feel right. And Harmony Sect is being way too friendly. We need to stay sharp.”
Andrew replied calmly, “Mr. Thorton, I know what I’m doing. Also, tell Eric not to get too close to the flowers along the path. They have an aphrodisiac effect—and it only works on men.”
Jerome froze for a second, then hurried back to warn Eric.
After hearing the warning, Eric muttered under his breath, “Harmony Sect is really playing dirty. But the real target probably isn’t both of us—it’s Andrew.”
Before long, they were escorted into Harmony Sect’s grand reception hall, clearly reserved for their most distinguished guests.
Dorothy sat at the head of the room in a flowing pale yellow dress that seemed to move with a life of its own. She looked almost like an innocent young girl as she smiled at Andrew.
“Mr. Lloyd,” she said gently, “you and your group have had a very long journey. Let’s not rush into business. Why don’t you stay the night here at Harmony Sect and rest? We can talk tomorrow. How does that sound?”
Andrew smiled politely. “Madam Fontaine, I appreciate the offer. But things are too urgent. I think it’s best we get straight to the point.”
Eric mentally rolled his eyes. If they stayed the night here, surrounded by all these women, he was fairly certain he wouldn’t make it to morning in one piece. There was no way he could hold out if they all came at him at once.
Dorothy didn’t seem bothered by the refusal and continued smiling.
But Giovanni let out a sharp, dismissive scoff.
“There’s a saying that guests should follow the host’s arrangements. Mr. Lloyd, you’ve traveled a long way. Are you really going to reject your host’s hospitality just like that?”
Andrew remained calm as he turned to look at him.
“We’re not here as guests. We came to invite Harmony Sect to stand with us against a common threat. Holtrien is facing a crisis right now. Hiding away in comfort while that happens—that’s not something a person of character does.”
Giovanni scoffed again. “Harmony Sect is small and modest. We don’t have the strength to get involved in a full-scale war. And we’ve always stayed out of the outside world’s affairs. The military and the major powers can handle the fighting. Harmony Sect is nothing but a group of weak women. Even if we went, we wouldn’t be of any help.”
The message behind his words was unmistakable.
He was trying to wash Harmony Sect’s hands of any responsibility.
