Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3329
At the same time, deep within a hidden, paradise-like realm, the scenery was breathtaking.
Lush green mountains rolled into the distance. Clear streams wound gently through blooming flower fields, the air heavy with fragrance. Young women who looked as if they had stepped straight out of a fairytale wandered among the blossoms. Some gathered flowers in woven baskets. Others basked lazily in the sunlight. A few knelt by the water’s edge, washing clothes in the stream, their movements slow and graceful.
Not a single man could be seen anywhere.
Beyond this heavenly landscape stood rows of elegant villa-style buildings. At the center rose a magnificent grand hall.
This was the headquarters of the Harmony Sect.
Inside, Dorothy Fontaine, the sect leader, sat gracefully on a snow-white chair. She wore a soft yellow gown that flowed around her like sunlight. Her slender fingers—pale as porcelain—lifted a delicate cup of floral tea. She took a slow sip, then set it down with a faint, satisfied smile.
Her lips curved into a girlish grin, as if she genuinely enjoyed the taste.
Dorothy looked no older than twenty-three. Her skin was fair with a natural rosy glow. Her eyes held effortless charm without a trace of makeup. Slightly rounded cheeks gave her a subtle baby-faced softness, adding to her pure, almost ethereal beauty.
Every glance. Every smile.
It tugged at the heart.
That was Dorothy’s unique allure.
Seated below her on either side were more than a dozen elders of the Harmony Sect. Each woman was breathtaking in her own way, radiating a different kind of beauty.
Some were refined and distant, like untouchable angels. Others wore playful smiles laced with natural seduction. A few were full-figured and striking, exuding bold, mature confidence.
Among them, there was only one man, dressed in white. Everyone else present was female.
The man in white spoke first, his expression troubled.
“Madam Fontaine, Andrew has already visited every sect except ours. Once he arrives here, there will be a confrontation. We all know that.”
Dorothy let out a soft sigh.
“There’s no avoiding it,” she said gently. “So let him come.”
Even her sigh carried a fragile beauty that made her seem even more captivating. The male elder stared at her openly, admiration written across his face.
Ignoring his gaze, Dorothy turned to one of the female elders.
“Charlotte, how are the preparations?”
Charlotte Easterling kept her head lowered. Her face remained hidden, but her chin, collarbone, and elegant neck were flawless—like a carefully sculpted masterpiece.
Her voice was soft, almost tender.
“Everything will proceed according to your instructions. For the sake of the sect, I’m willing to do anything.”
Dorothy nodded, satisfied.
“Good. I see your dedication, and I’ll remember it. And you don’t need to think you’re losing anything.”
She smiled faintly.
“Andrew is said to be tall and imposing—powerful and handsome. More importantly, his martial strength is extraordinary, and his status unmatched. To cultivate alongside such a man would surely be… unforgettable.”
Charlotte answered quietly. Her voice trembled slightly, as if even speaking about it made her uneasy.
The sole male elder suddenly stiffened, alarm flashing across his face.
“Madam Fontaine, what are you implying?” he demanded. “You intend to send Elder Easterling—your only direct successor—to serve Andrew?”
His tone sharpened.
“That’s impossible! According to our ancestral rules, only the Guardian of Harmony Sect may cultivate alongside Madam Fontaine’s lineage. Andrew is an outsider. How can we hand him such an advantage?”
He drew a firm breath.
“I absolutely refuse.”
