Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3317
The men who stepped inside were none other than Andrew and his crew.
An elder from the Umbral Peak Sect let out a sharp scream. “Andrew! You’ve trespassed into the Umbral Peak Sect! Where are the disciples on guard duty? How did you even make it up here?”
Andrew’s voice was calm, almost casual. “Sorry. We killed them all.”
The elder’s face drained of color.
Monty’s expression darkened instantly. Through clenched teeth, he said, “The Umbral Peak Sect and the Lloyd royal family have no bad blood between us, do we?
Andrew, what exactly do you mean by killing my disciples?”
Andrew’s tone remained indifferent. “No special meaning. They were nothing but selfish beasts. Killing them wasn’t a big deal.”
He paused, then looked at Monty. “Let’s put it this way, Mr. Reyes. Imagine you raised a dog. One day, that dog tries to bite you. What would you do?”
Monty exploded. “You arrogant bastard! How dare you compare me to a dog?”
Andrew’s lips curved into a cold, contemptuous smile. “You’re right. I do see you as dogs—dogs who bite the hands that feed them.
“And if that’s the case, why would I keep you around?”
Monty roared, “Everyone, kill these lunatics who don’t know their place!”
In an instant, shadows streaked across the vast cavern hall. From the dark tunnels carved into the surrounding rock walls, waves of Umbral Peak Sect disciples surged out. Their eyes blazed with killing intent as they locked onto Andrew and his team.
Andrew, however, acted as if he didn’t see them at all. His expression remained steady and unreadable.
He walked straight to Clarence. “You alright?”
Clarence shook his head, eyes shining with excitement. “Captain, what are you doing here?”
“I just came from the Thunder Sect,” Andrew replied. “Didn’t expect you’d get here first. Did Philip send you?”
Clarence nodded. “Yes. He asked me to request that the Umbral Peak Sect join forces against the western invaders. Unfortunately, they have no intention of helping.”
At that moment, the other soldiers gathered in front of Andrew and snapped into a crisp salute.
“Captain!”
Back when Andrew served in the Divine Dragon Order, he held the rank of Major General. He didn’t just carry out the organization’s top-tier missions—he also trained military officers. And not basic recruits. Officer-level training.
The Divine Dragon Order was Holtrien’s most mysterious and elite force—far more secretive and lethal than the public military. While the army stood as the visible pillar of strength, the Divine Dragon Order was the true nightmare of the West.
Every member had been carefully selected from the military and subjected to brutal rounds of screening and evaluation before earning entry.
Andrew glanced around. “Everyone okay? Valerie, bandage this brother’s wounds.”
Valerie stepped forward immediately to treat the injured Iron Cavalry soldier.
Only then did Andrew slowly turn to Julius.
“Julius, you ran pretty fast. But like I said, it doesn’t matter where you run. It’s pointless.”
His gaze sharpened.
“Originally, I planned to kill you outright. But Holtrien is under immense pressure from this war. So I’m considering letting you keep your head—for now—and sending you to the Eastern Azure Gate to serve the country and atone for your sins.”
Julius rose to his feet, robes billowing as he carried himself with the imposing presence of a seasoned warlord.
“Andrew, you foolish brat,” he said coldly. “You probably don’t realize this—I don’t need to run. And I certainly don’t need to fear you.”
Andrew let out a mocking laugh. “You don’t need to run? You’re not afraid?”
His voice turned razor-sharp.
“Then why didn’t you show up at Thunder Sect and settle things with me?”
Before Julius could answer, Andrew continued, his tone dripping with disdain.
“Julius, you’ve spent your entire life trying to become Holtrien’s number one.
But the truth is—you’re still nowhere close.”
