Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3313

Julius’ face stayed cold, not a trace of satisfaction in sight.

The moment Andrew shattered Thunder Sect’s grand formation, Julius had fled. He knew better than anyone that he himself could never have broken that formation—yet Andrew had done it.

Two years ago, Andrew had been nothing more than an afterthought in Julius’ eyes, someone he could have erased with a flick of his hand. In just two short years, that same man had become terrifyingly powerful.

Julius had always believed he feared nothing. But Andrew’s overwhelming presence forced him to abandon his plan to join forces with Rupert and kill him on the spot. Running had been the only viable option.

So he came straight to the Umbral Peak Sect.

Originally, Julius had no intention of cooperating with them. The sect was gloomy, eccentric, unsettling—beneath him, in his view. But now, his options were running out. He had too few potential allies left, and he had no intention of facing Andrew alone.

At the very least, it would take two ancient sects joining forces to stand a chance.

Thinking about how he had fled—from the Western Regions to Thunder Sect, and now from Thunder Sect to Umbral Peak—Julius felt a deep sense of humiliation. At the same time, his murderous intent toward Andrew only intensified.

    He couldn’t defeat Reginald.
Now he was being hunted by Reginald’s son.

This father and son of the Lloyd family had carved their hatred into his bones.

Escorted by an elder, Julius soon arrived at the mountain gate of Umbral Peak Sect, his bearing once again imposing.

The sect had always kept a low profile, walking a fine line between righteous and wicked. Its members frequently appeared in brutal incidents across the martial world. In the past, Julius would have dismissed them as nothing more than opportunistic villains.

Now, he had to lower himself and seek their support.

The main hall wasn’t grand. The entire place carried an eerie, almost ghostly atmosphere. The Divine Alchemists’ disciples were visibly unsettled, but seeing Julius stride forward without hesitation, they forced themselves to follow.

Before long, inside a vast natural cavern, Julius and his entourage were brought before the upper ranks of the Umbral Peak Sect.

At the center stood Monty Reyes, the sect master.

Among the Eight Ancient Sects, Monty kept the lowest profile. Yet rumors claimed his martial prowess was the most formidable. It was said that even Luther of Mount Lourneau could defeat him only by half a move.

Julius found that claim ridiculous. He had always held himself in the highest regard.

Still, the Umbral Peak Sect’s strength didn’t rest solely on Monty. The sect maintained murky ties with the powerful Reyes family. Holtrien’s elite all knew there was a connection, though few understood its depth.

Besides Monty, the sect also had another renowned master—the Eastern Wanderer. Andrew had once sought him out, hoping to learn how to break the seal on his energy core.

“Mr. Bowen, you’ve come a long way, and we failed to greet you properly. Please forgive us.”

Monty rose at once, smiling warmly. Clean-shaven and dressed in white robes, he looked more like a refined scholar than the leader of a sinister sect.

No matter how arrogant Julius was, he returned the courtesy with a bow. “Mr. Reyes, I hope I’m not intruding.”

“Not at all,” Monty replied pleasantly. “I heard from our elder that you just came from Thunder Sect?”

“That’s right,” Julius answered coolly. “I came directly from Thunder Sect.”

Monty chuckled lightly. “How interesting. If you were already visiting Thunder Sect, what brings you to Umbral Peak so suddenly?”

Julius let out a cold snort. He knew Monty was deliberately pressing the issue—subtly exposing the fact that Julius had fled here for refuge.

“I came to seek an alliance with the Umbral Peak Sect,” Julius said in a low voice.

He continued, “Our Eight Ancient Sects may not interact much, but we’re bound together. If one thrives, all thrive. If one falls, all fall. To be honest, Thunder Sect has already been subdued by Andrew. Next, it will be Umbral Peak Sect’s turn.”

    Monty’s smile didn’t fade.

“I’m aware of that young man’s abilities,” he said calmly. “But this is Umbral Peak territory. I doubt he’d dare act recklessly here. And even if he did, he wouldn’t accomplish much.”

    Julius laughed coldly.

“Mr. Reyes, Rupert thought the same thing,” he said. “In the end, Andrew split Thunder Sect’s defensive formation with a single sword strike. A thousand-year legacy was destroyed in an instant.”

    His gaze sharpened.

“And if—just if—Umbral Peak Sect walks that same path… I wonder, Mr. Reyes, whether you’ll still be smiling like this.”
