Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3307

Julius rose and left without another word.

Yet for reasons he couldn’t quite explain, a faint unease lingered in his chest.

Once he was gone, Rupert’s expression turned icy. A trace of disdain surfaced in his eyes.

“That stray dog crawled in from the Western Regions and still dares to put on airs in my territory,” he sneered. “If the Divine Alchemists weren’t still somewhat useful, I wouldn’t even bother cooperating with him.”

Ancient sects had never truly been united.

Even in times of peace, they despised one another—smiling on the surface while scheming and fighting in the shadows.

“Eren should be back by now,” Rupert muttered.

He had sent Eren to Mount Lourneau to monitor Luther, wary that he might secretly contact Andrew.

Just then, a disciple rushed into the hall.

“Mr. Hudson! Eren has returned—but he’s fallen into the hands of the Lloyd family’s Dragon Prince.”

Rupert’s eyes narrowed, though he remained calm.

“You’re saying the Lloyd family’s Dragon Prince is here as well?”

The disciple nodded repeatedly. “Yes. He’s here.”

Rupert’s voice sharpened. “How many did he bring? Five thousand?”

The disciple shook his head. “No. Only a few people.”

Rupert froze for a moment—then burst into hearty laughter.

“Excellent! Since this boy doesn’t know when to quit and delivered himself to our doorstep, the Thunder Sect will settle all old and new grudges today!”

    His eyes flashed coldly.

“Prepare the mountain defense formation. I’ll personally kill this little thief.”

    —

Not long after Andrew and his group stepped through the Thunder Sect’s mountain gate, the stone slabs beneath their feet began to tremble violently.

Moments later, more than a thousand Thunder Sect disciples poured out from the main hall, each gripping a sword, their killing intent thick in the air.

They moved with discipline, spreading out across the vast plaza before the hall.

In seconds, they formed a strange, ominous formation.

Nyx frowned. “Is this the Thunder Sect’s defense formation Mr. Johnton mentioned?”

Andrew didn’t answer. He simply carried his greatsword forward.

A loud shout echoed across the plaza.

“Andrew! The Thunder Sect does not welcome you. Take one more step, and you’ll die where you stand!”

    Andrew stopped.

He looked calmly at the speaker, his face unreadable.

Eren quickly whispered, “That’s our sect leader—Mr. Rupert Hudson.”

Rupert stood atop a massive sword, soaring out from the main hall in a single swift motion. After circling once above the plaza, he descended before the thousand disciples.

He pointed his heavy sword directly at Andrew, his presence overwhelming.

Andrew’s voice remained steady. “Mr. Hudson, this is no way to treat a guest.”

Rupert’s eyes turned frigid. “You killed Trevor, an elder of the Thunder Sect. And you call yourself a guest?”

    Andrew didn’t flinch.

“Trevor died because he deserved it. He joined the siege against my father. Tell me—how is that not a death he earned?”

    Rupert scoffed.

“So you really did come here to die. You’ve underestimated the Thunder Sect. I’ll make sure you don’t leave this mountain alive.”

He rose into the air on his sword.

With a powerful swing, his heavy blade slashed downward.

A massive sword beam howled toward Andrew.

    Andrew responded just as casually.

He lifted his greatsword and slashed.

A black-red beam tore through the air.

    The two forces collided.

    Boom.

The entire mountain gate shook violently. Dust rained from the stone walls.

    Andrew didn’t move an inch.

But Rupert felt his blood churn inside his chest. His sword strike had been completely neutralized—and the recoil sent a wave of discomfort through his body.

    His eyes darkened.

This kid is terrifyingly strong. No wonder no one in Chetvine could stop him… even Guillermo suffered at his hands.

    Rupert took a deep breath.

He raised his heavy sword vertically before his forehead.

“Disciples of the Thunder Sect—heed my command! Activate the mountain defense formation! Kill all outsiders without mercy!”

A thousand swords rose at once.

Sword energy surged skyward, crisscrossing and intertwining like a storm of blades.

Light gathered around Rupert, forming a massive sword of brilliance that enveloped his entire body.

He drew in the thousand streams of sword energy.

    Then he turned—

And brought his heavy sword crashing down toward Andrew.

A colossal sword arc, forged from the combined power of a thousand disciples, descended like a collapsing mountain.

Nyx and the others retreated instinctively, hearts pounding at the overwhelming force crashing down from above.
