Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3301
Early that morning, Andrew had barely slept. He’d only dozed for a short while before getting up to pack. Thanks to his extraordinary strength and abilities, fatigue didn’t touch him—he felt sharp, steady, and completely refreshed. Meanwhile, the women in his life still lay sprawled across the bed, pale, slender legs tangled together in a scene that was both intimate and quietly beautiful.
Before sunrise, Andrew gathered his people and left Chetvine without fanfare. Their first destination was Mount Lourneau.
After traveling through the morning, they arrived at the foot of the mountain. Eric took in the sweeping landscape and smiled.
“No matter where I go, nothing compares to Holtrien,” he said.
Jerome nodded with a soft sigh. “That’s the truth. Nowhere else will you find people as devoted to nature as we are—people who truly understand it.”
Not long after, they climbed the winding path and reached Trinity Grand Hall atop Mount Lourneau. Two years had passed. For Andrew, this was a return to familiar ground.
Valerie, who had rushed over from home earlier that morning, stood beside him with a gentle smile. “Honey, do you still remember what happened between us here?”
Andrew met her eyes and nodded. “Of course I do. You were incredible back then, Valerie.”
Her smile widened, clearly pleased. She stepped forward and addressed a young man nearby. “We’re from Chetvine. Could you please inform Mr. Luther Johnston that we’re here? We’d like to see him.”
The young man shook his head. “Mr. Johnston has gone to attend a council meeting. He likely won’t return until this evening.”
Valerie looked worried, but Andrew waved a hand lightly. “It’s fine. We’ll wait.”
They remained on the mountain until nightfall. At last, Luther returned to Mount Lourneau.
The moment he saw Andrew, surprise flickered across his face. He studied him carefully for a long moment before breaking into hearty laughter and walking forward.
“Andrew, you’ve grown far more impressive than before. Your martial arts have reached a level I can no longer comprehend.”
Andrew smiled respectfully. “It’s good to see you again, Mr. Johnston.”
Luther gestured toward the back. “Come. Let’s speak in the courtyard.”
Soon, they entered his quiet meditation retreat.
Luther wasted no time. “Andrew, I believe I know why you’ve come. You want to ask about the Eight Ancient Sects, don’t you?”
Andrew nodded. “Yes. My understanding is limited. First, Mount Lourneau. Second, the Rainveil Sect. Third, the Divine Alchemists. Fourth, what seems to be the Advanced Medical Institute. As for the fifth… would Umbral Peak Sect—the one backing the Reyes family—count?”
Luther smiled, clearly impressed. “That’s correct. And your knowledge is more complete than I expected.
“However, you should know this—the Advanced Medical Institute does not truly count as one of the Eight Ancient Sects. It was established much later. Compared to the original Medicine Sect, it falls far short.”
Andrew raised a brow. “The Medicine Sect? Why haven’t I heard of it?”
Luther stroked his beard. “You may not recognize the name, but you’ve encountered its legacy. Isn’t your alchemy inherited from the God of Medicine—the legendary figure of Holtrien’s martial world?”
Andrew’s eyes sharpened with realization. “He was a successor of the ancient Medicine Sect?”
“Exactly.”
Andrew smiled faintly. “I see. It’s just that I haven’t seen him in years.”
Luther sighed. “He wanders the world—appearing and disappearing without warning. Even I have no idea where he might be now.”
Nyx, clearly intrigued, stepped forward and bowed respectfully. “Mr. Johnston, Andrew mentioned five sects—the Medicine Sect, the Divine Alchemists, Mount Lourneau, the Rainveil Sect, and Umbral Peak Sect. That leaves three more. Could you enlighten us?”
Her posture was surprisingly proper, and Luther couldn’t help but laugh at the sight.
