Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3296
The Hearst family’s show of submission filled the Lloyd family with overwhelming excitement.
Several department heads turned to Donovan, their eyes shining.
“Patriarch Donovan, the time has come.”
Another added, “The Lloyd family should be entrusted to Andrew. Two of the three great royal families are already aligned with him. Even if he hasn’t officially become Holtrien’s supreme ruler, he already holds a position no one else can match.”
Donovan’s expression lit up.
That had been his plan all along. From the very beginning, he intended to hand the Lloyd family over to Andrew. But Andrew had always refused. After returning from the Outlands, he had even stated clearly that Sheena should take the lead.
At first, the department heads supported her.
But now, the answer seemed obvious.
Andrew was the most suitable choice. Saying he would restore the Lloyd family’s former glory wasn’t exaggeration—it was reality.
Andrew turned to Pablo. “Patriarch Pablo, back in Chetvine, I only won by luck. Your Diamond Body Art was just one step away from perfection. If you complete that final refinement, I wouldn’t stand a chance.”
Pablo was still weak from his severe injuries, but he burst into hearty laughter.
“A win is a win. A loss is a loss. I know the difference,” he said openly. “Besides, you’ve already stepped into the Beyond Mortal Limits realm. The Hearst family can’t produce someone at that level. I once hoped I could break through myself.”
He shook his head lightly.
“But it doesn’t matter anymore. Andrew, you’re truly strong.”
Andrew laughed and gave a slight bow. “Then I’ll see you at the frontlines.”
Pablo returned the gesture. “At the frontlines. When the nation’s at stake, you fight until it’s over.”
Zavian and the others, still overwhelmed with joy, surrounded Pablo as they began heading back.
The gray-haired Martial God asked carefully, “Patriarch, what really happened in Chetvine? If we hadn’t received that terrible news, we wouldn’t have mobilized our forces.”
Pablo’s tone turned weary.
“What you all did was neither honorable nor worthy of our family. In truth, we lost both face and ground. Compared to Andrew’s openness and integrity—as a man—we fell short.”
The gray-haired Martial God and the others flushed with embarrassment. They wanted to defend themselves, but they couldn’t deny the truth.
Jeffery spoke quietly. “Patriarch, given the circumstances, we had no choice. We believed that even if your trip to Chetvine didn’t succeed, nothing would go wrong. Who could have imagined that the news would claim you had… had been killed? The entire Hearst family fell into chaos.”
Pablo’s voice deepened.
“From a purely martial standpoint, I already knew it was unfair when I challenged Andrew. He had just fought the Cunningham family’s grand elder in an intense battle and was injured.”
“And immediately after that, he fought me.”
He exhaled slowly.
“Diamond Body Art is the foundation of the Hearst family. And yet he broke through it. Even now, thinking about it feels like walking along the edge of a cliff.”
Zavian hesitated before asking, “Father, if Andrew broke through your weak point, how did you survive?”
Pablo sighed.
“His medical skill is extraordinary. At the critical moment, he stabilized my heart meridian. Then he used pure force to channel energy into my body and forcibly pull my life force back. With additional help from a woman named Bridget, I barely survived.”
He paused, his gaze steady.
“Andrew is a master of medicine and martial arts. His alchemy skills are exceptional as well. With someone like him, the Lloyd family will stand unmatched across Holtrien for the next hundred years.”
Jeffery and the others fell silent.
To say they had never dreamed of dominating Holtrien would be a lie. Every great family harbored that ambition.
But Andrew’s sudden rise had completely overshadowed the Hearst family across generations.
All that remained now was quiet acceptance.
