Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3294
The gray-haired Martial God gasped, his face draining of color. For the first time, real fear surfaced in his eyes.
Jeffery stared up at Andrew’s hovering figure. Without realizing it, his voice had turned hoarse.
“Fine,” he said with a stiff, bitter smile. “Since you’ve shown your trump card, the Hearst family has nothing more to say. Retreat. We’re leaving.”
He gave the order without hesitation.
Zavian’s face twisted. “Elder Jeffery, how can we retreat? My father’s death—”
“We’re leaving!” Jeffery barked. “There’s nothing to discuss!”
Cold sweat soaked his back.
If Andrew abandoned restraint and simply crushed the Hearst family’s top fighters—if he killed Zavian, the gray-haired Martial God, and the others—the Hearst family’s standing would collapse overnight. Their decline would be inevitable.
Beyond Mortal Limits was not something Jeffery fully understood.
He only knew one thing: the Hearst family could not stand against it.
Trying would mean annihilation.
The Lloyd family had produced another top-tier powerhouse. Among the three great royal families, there might no longer be anyone capable of rivaling them.
Pablo’s death… would have to remain unresolved.
The weight of that realization crushed Jeffery’s spirit.
Under Andrew’s icy gaze, Zavian and the gray-haired Martial God trembled involuntarily. Seeing Jeffery withdraw, they instinctively began to follow.
Then—
Zavian suddenly spun around, eyes bloodshot, gripping his shattered pride tighter than his weapon.
“Andrew!” he roared. “Even if you’re Beyond Mortal Limits, the Hearst family may retreat—but I won’t!”
His voice shook, but his resolve did not.
“Today, I’ll witness your power myself. I don’t care if I die for it!”
With an enraged shout, he raised Crescent Reaper and charged.
Jeffery and the others were stunned.
“Zavian, come back!”
“This is suicide! Get back here!”
But Zavian’s heart was pounding too loudly to listen.
“Elder Jeffery, take the disciples back,” he shouted without turning. “Even if I die, I have to seek justice for my father!”
He leapt into the air. Chaotic shadows streaked before his blade as he slashed toward Andrew with everything he had.
Sheena scoffed. “Idiot. He doesn’t know his limits. Andy, teach him.”
Andrew remained expressionless.
Still hovering, he extended a single finger.
It touched the edge of Zavian’s blade.
That was all.
In the next instant, Zavian’s body convulsed violently. It felt as though countless invisible blades surged through his weapon and into his flesh, tearing him apart from the inside.
A piercing scream ripped from his throat.
Blood sprayed.
He fell from the sky.
Crescent Reaper shattered into fragments midair.
As he dropped, despair flooded his mind.
One finger.
That was all it took.
Across generations, the Hearst family had never produced anyone who could stand even close to Andrew.
So this is the gap, he thought.
Perhaps dying like this… wouldn’t be so bad.
But when he hit the ground, there was no crushing impact.
Someone had caught him.
With great effort, he turned his head—and saw Andrew’s face.
Zavian froze.
“Y-You…”
The words died in his throat.
In the distance, Jeffery and the others were equally stunned.
Andrew smirked—and let go.
Zavian dropped the remaining distance and hit the dirt face-first, rolling in the dust.
“Bastard! What the hell?!” he shouted.
Andrew had softened the fall deliberately. The final drop caused no real harm.
But it was humiliating.
Utterly humiliating.
Andrew had done it on purpose.
Fury surged through Zavian.
Andrew’s voice turned cold. “If this is the level of your family’s disciples, then you’re nothing special. You talk about avenging your father—but do you even qualify to seek revenge?”
Zavian’s face burned crimson. He clenched his teeth and spat out another mouthful of blood.
Sheena strode over, planted her foot squarely on his chest, and slapped him—hard.
Smack.
Zavian roared.
She slapped him again.
And again.
His ears rang violently.
“Those were for your earlier nonsense,” Sheena said coldly. “For running your mouth and acting like you were untouchable.”
