Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3291
Jeffery’s silence was answer enough.
In a time when Holtrien stood under siege—pressed by enemies at its borders and turmoil within—allowing the Hearst and Lloyd families to clash was strategically reckless. He knew that.
But Pablo’s death had shattered the morale of the Hearst family’s younger generation. If he continued suppressing their fury, it could spark internal rebellion.
And Zavian had already made his move.
With a thunderous roar, the gray-haired Martial God stormed out of the command tent.
“Zavian! I’m coming!”
He leapt into the battlefield, joining Zavian in a two-on-one assault against Sheena.
On the Lloyd side, the department heads bristled with anger.
“Patriarch Donovan, since the Hearst family is pushing this far, we won’t hold back either!”
Donovan frowned deeply. “Jeffery isn’t reckless. Not normally. Holtrien is in a national crisis. Does he really want to see internal bloodshed right now?”
But he couldn’t just stand by and watch Sheena fall into a disadvantage. He was about to issue the order. One of the Lloyd family’s veteran Martial Gods was already preparing to step in.
Then a calm voice cut through the tension.
“Let me handle it.”
Donovan turned—and relief flooded his face.
“Andrew. You’re here.”
Andrew smiled faintly. “Sheena and I arrived around the same time. She was worried about the frontline, so she moved ahead.”
Nyx stood beside him. Eric and Jerome had also come. Andrew’s other companions had remained in Chetvine to organize supplies. With the military front under immense pressure, Lauren, Chantelle, and the others had voluntarily mobilized support efforts from the rear.
Donovan lowered his voice. “Andy, should we escalate this conflict with the Hearst family? If our own people start killing each other while the nation is at war… we’ll be sinners in the eyes of those fighting on the frontlines.”
Andrew answered evenly. “From a moral standpoint, we shouldn’t escalate it.
“But the Hearst family is being far too arrogant. If we don’t put them in their place now, reasoning with them later will be useless.”
Donovan chuckled. “Then why don’t you take over as commander-in-chief?”
Andrew waved him off. “You’re doing just fine. I’ll go support Sheena.”
He stepped forward, eyes settling on the open ground between the two camps.
Sheena stood there alone, facing Zavian and the gray-haired Martial God.
Nyx spoke quietly, “Honey, I’ll help her. I’m confident I can take that old man down.”
Andrew gave her a helpless smile. “Killing isn’t the goal. Zavian is one of the Hearst family’s top prospects. We absolutely can’t kill him.”
Nyx snorted. “I don’t care about their prospects. I care about our people.”
“Let’s watch for now,” Andrew said. “This is a good chance for Sheena to sharpen herself.”
Though outnumbered, Sheena held her ground. The fight was dangerous, but her momentum never wavered.
More than once, Zavian was forced to retreat under her fierce counterattacks, which only fueled his fury.
The gray-haired Martial God, however, was ruthless. Grim-faced and relentless, every strike he launched carried lethal intent.
Andrew’s eyes turned cold.
“Nyx. Help me restrain that old man. Don’t kill him. At a time like this, losing a Martial God would be a waste. The frontlines still need him.”
Nyx pouted playfully. “Oh? So you’re showing mercy to talent? Or wait—you’re protecting the people.”
She giggled. “Does that mean you’re about to become Holtrien’s ruler?”
Andrew looked exasperated. “Don’t start. I don’t have that kind of ambition.”
Nyx stepped forward casually. “Ambition or not, Holtrien needs someone like that right now. Otherwise, with everyone divided, nothing will ever get done.”
As her words faded, her figure blurred.
In an instant, she vanished—moving so fast that even seasoned warriors struggled to follow her trajectory.
