Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3289

Outside Azure Gate, the earth trembled.

Philip immediately climbed the towering city wall and looked into the distance. On the horizon, the Dark Army advanced in dense, rolling waves, launching their assault.

At the very front, werewolves and sirens charged with savage momentum. The vampires, however, held back. They thrived only under heavy, overcast skies—conditions that dulled their weaknesses. At any other time, they were notoriously fragile.

Philip’s expression hardened as he turned to the generals.

“Proceed according to plan. Intercept them outside the gate first,” he ordered. “Then fall back and hold the walls.”

He quickly glanced at Franz. “Besides our military forces, how many from Holtrien’s martial world and the ancient sects have shown up?”

Franz shook his head. “The mobilization order went out, but very few responded. A handful of martial artists from nearby regions have arrived. As for the ancient sects—not a single one.”

Philip’s anger flared. “Those cowards hide in the shadows and enjoy the benefits of modern society. Now that war’s here, they won’t lift a finger.

“What’s the point of cultivating martial arts and chasing supremacy if they won’t use their strength to defend their nation? Damn it.”

Franz replied calmly, “General, let’s focus on surviving this first wave. You already sent envoys to each of the major ancient sects. We’ll have answers soon.”

Philip gave a cold snort and said nothing more, his full attention shifting back to the battlefield below.

Meanwhile, in Chetvine, Andrew barely had time to breathe before heading west.

The Hearst royal family’s army from the Hearstlands had already advanced to the outskirts of the city. Donovan led the Lloyd royal family’s forces, blocking them head-on. The two sides had been locked in a tense standoff all night.

“Hand over that brat Andrew,” a Martial God from the Hearst royal family shouted coldly. “Or the Hearst family will not let this go.”

On the Lloyd side, Donovan narrowed his eyes. “That young man at the front—his aura is formidable. Who is he?”

A department head replied, “Patriarch Donovan, that’s Zavian Hearst, son of Patriarch Pablo. He’s the leading figure among the Hearst family’s younger generation. Same generation as Andrew and Sheena. His strength is exceptional—few among the Hearsts can match him.”

Donovan’s voice turned icy. “Tell them this: Patriarch Pablo died in battle. That’s an undeniable fact.

“If the Hearst family wants to settle scores, the Lloyd family will see it through.”

Several department heads stiffened, but under Donovan’s cold stare, they quickly complied.

One of them shouted across the battlefield, “Patriarch Pablo fell during his clash with Andrew at Chetvine. This was never the Lloyd family’s intention. Patriarch Pablo came seeking conflict.

“The Lloyd family has nothing more to say. If the Hearst family insists on aggression, we will meet you in battle!”

The declaration echoed across the field and reached the Hearst ranks.

    Instantly, chaos erupted.

    “Patriarch Pablo is dead?”

“How could someone of his strength fall?”

“Kill them! Slaughter them and avenge Patriarch!”

The Hearst warriors’ eyes burned red as rage swept through their ranks.

At the front, a flush of crimson rose across Zavian’s resolute face. Suddenly, he coughed up a mouthful of blood.

    “Father!”

His anguished roar tore through the air. Tears glistened at the corners of his eyes as he gripped his massive Crescent Reaper and charged forward—alone.

“You bastards! Your lives are mine! I’ll avenge my father!”

His thunderous cry shook the battlefield.

Seeing Zavian charge the Lloyd camp single-handedly, several Lloyd department heads erupted in fury and rushed out to intercept him.

In an instant, the two sides collided in fierce, explosive combat.
