Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3281

Bridget shot him a sharp look. “Not only are you going to listen—you’re going to do it. Honestly, you’re nothing like your father. If Reginald were cultivating the Divine Art of Heaven and Earth’s Five Elements, he’d probably have a full harem by now and half the continent swooning over him.”

She clicked her tongue. “But you? You’re so restrained you haven’t even tapped into the true power of this technique.”

Andrew felt a flicker of frustration.

He couldn’t understand why she kept bringing Reginald into it. And from the teasing—almost faintly resentful—edge in her voice, a thought struck him. Did Bridget have some kind of past with Reginald?

He shut that line of thinking down immediately.

Bridget wasn’t like Victoria or Tiana. One wrong question could set off a storm he had no hope of surviving.

She continued, her tone turning serious. “Andrew, one day you’ll understand the true value of the Divine Art of Heaven and Earth’s Five Elements. The Rainveil Sect once stood at the pinnacle of all study into natural laws and elemental forces. When this art is cultivated to its peak, you transcend the five elements themselves. You’re no longer bound by them.”

    Her gaze sharpened.

“At that stage, anything in the world—regardless of attribute—can be absorbed and converted into your own strength.”

Andrew’s curiosity flared. “Ma’am, Luna and the others all have distinct elemental attributes. What about me? What’s my attribute?”

    Bridget smiled.

It was a soft, luminous smile—so unexpectedly beautiful that Andrew froze for half a second before instinctively looking away. If Luna hadn’t revealed her true identity, he would have believed Bridget was merely a graceful woman in her early thirties, someone gentle and removed from worldly strife.

“You,” she said calmly, “possess the Five Virtues Physique. The rarest and most extraordinary constitution in existence.”

    Andrew’s heart jolted.

“In ancient times,” she continued, “many legendary figures shared that same physique. Especially during the era of the Five Clans—when the Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth clans flourished and faith across the land was at its peak. Only true sages who ascended the throne possessed the Five Virtues Physique.”

Andrew was stunned. “But you said yourself that spiritual energy in this era is scarce. How could such a physique manifest now? This age can’t compare to ancient Holtrien.”

Bridget shook her head. “No one knows why. Perhaps heaven has its own design. But there’s no doubt—you will surpass Reginald. You will become the greatest figure in Holtrien.”

    Her expression hardened slightly.

“Right now, your progress is still too slow. Only by advancing further will you gain the authority to command Holtrien’s Eight Ancient Sects. So I’m going to help you break into the Beyond Mortal Limits realm. No matter what happens, you will endure it. Grit your teeth and push through.”

Andrew wasn’t afraid of hardship. And Bridget had shown nothing but sincerity toward him. She had healed his injuries. Now she was offering everything she had to push him into a higher realm.

    How could he refuse?

“Ma’am,” he said firmly, “let’s begin. Wait—why is there suddenly a pearl in my mouth?”

    Bridget’s face flushed crimson.

“Don’t ask,” she said quickly. “It’s a sacred treasure of the Rainveil Sect. It stabilizes the mind at critical moments.”

What she didn’t say was that the pearl required constant warming by body heat—and that she had always kept it within her own body.

Now Andrew was holding it between his lips.

The thought made her ears burn.

Andrew, oblivious, had already begun circulating his energy. With Bridget guiding him, he launched his attempt to break through into the Beyond Mortal Limits realm.

Fortune and misfortune truly walked hand in hand.

He had nearly died not long ago. Now his injuries were completely healed—and he was on the verge of transcending his previous limits.

Energy surged violently through his meridians.

He only had one thought driving him forward:

    Faster.

He needed to break through faster.

    Because once he did—

    He would hunt down Guillermo.

And the killing intent in his heart had never burned hotter.
