Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3278

Back then, Bridget and Reginald had shared a relationship that defied definition.

At the time, she was already engaged to marry Luna’s father. It was during that period that Reginald arrived in Gabo Creek and met her.

Reginald had a notoriously flirtatious nature. He teased every beauty he encountered, careless and bold. Bridget, by contrast, had been calm, composed, and impeccably proper—the very image of an aristocratic lady.

Reginald was instantly captivated by her.

And Bridget… was just as captivated by him.

Still, with marriage looming, she suppressed the stirrings in her heart.

He, however, refused to give up.

    He pursued her relentlessly.

Thinking back on those moments—the reckless charm, the teasing words that once made her cheeks burn—Bridget’s hand trembled slightly.

Pain flickered across Andrew’s face at once.

She quickly steadied herself, apologizing silently over and over. Then she reached out and gently brushed Andrew’s face. The cool touch calmed him immediately, easing him back into peaceful sleep.

Bridget gazed at him, and once again, her thoughts drifted.

She had once caressed Reginald’s handsome face the same way.

But that scoundrel had been nothing like this refined young man before her.

Reginald would kiss her one moment—then chase after another woman the next. Victoria. Tiana.

Tiana had been fiery, bold, reckless.

She gave Reginald a different kind of thrill.

Bridget still remembered how Tiana would brazenly straddle him—even with their clothes still on. The intimacy alone had been enough to make Bridget blush when she accidentally witnessed it.

Tiana would bite into a grape no bigger than her thumb and insist Reginald eat the other half.

Back then, Reginald’s aura had been nearly untouchable.

He was known as the Lloyd family’s Dragon Prince—the strongest in Chetvine.

From the northern martial world to the southern martial world, he had never tasted defeat.

More than that, he was wild and charismatic. He could get along with anyone. Street vendors, wealthy heirs—it didn’t matter. He laughed easily, spoke freely.

Even married women would find themselves giggling after just a few words from him, secretly wishing they could abandon everything and run away at his side.

On top of it all, he had been devastatingly handsome—and obscenely wealthy.

When he was young, the Lloyd family placed no restraints on him. Money was spent without limits. Sports cars were driven recklessly. Women were pursued openly.

But Reginald’s charm went far beyond money and looks.

After Tiana fell for him, Victoria followed soon after.

Yet before any of them, Bridget had already given him her heart.

She had also been wise enough to understand one truth:

He was a man meant to be experienced briefly—never kept for life.

He was like a rose wrapped in thorns.

Beautiful to admire. Almost safe to touch.

But the moment you tried to hold him tightly, to claim him—

you were the one who bled.

The thorns would pierce straight into your palm.

It had never been Reginald’s intention to hurt anyone. He never truly harmed women—especially beautiful ones.

If someone slapped him or called him a scumbag, he would simply laugh it off.

Then he would drape an arm around another woman’s waist and whisper sweet words into her ear.

If that didn’t work, he would take her out to experience the dazzling world with him.

He had once taken Bridget to watch one of his matches at the Southern Martial Union.

    As always, he won effortlessly.

With a casual flick of his fingers, the Southern Martial Union’s grandmaster conceded on the spot.

    That had been Reginald.

    Untamed.

    Brilliant.

    And impossible to keep.
