Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3274
One look was enough to tell the bloody handprint had come from Andrew. He had grabbed Bridget and forced her to promise that Guillermo would never leave Chetvine.
“Don’t waste another second—go,” Bridget urged. “Andrew’s injuries won’t heal overnight, but I have my own methods. I can get him back on his feet and restore his fighting strength. His determination to kill Guillermo… it’s beyond anything we can imagine.”
She let out a quiet sigh. “He pushes himself too far. It’s almost unbelievable.”
The words hit all three women hard, a sharp ache tightening in their chests.
Without another word, they rushed out of the Lloyd family estate.
Nyx and Sheena sped toward Chetvine’s main entry and exit points. Luna called after them, “I’m going to the Cunningham and Harding families. I’ll force them to send experts to help. If they refuse, the military—and Andrew—will settle the score afterward!”
Even Luna had shed all restraint.
Sheena and Nyx moved like shadows through Chetvine’s streets.
After a moment, Nyx spoke. “Sheena, if the one who rescued Guillermo is from the Cavendish royal family, they won’t brazenly use the main exits.”
Sheena frowned. “You’re saying the Cavendish family has secret routes out of Chetvine—ways to slip out without us knowing?”
Nyx nodded. “Trust me. I’ve lived that life. As an assassin, I know how these things work.”
Sheena’s expression darkened. “But Chetvine is huge. All we can realistically do is lock down the major exits. We don’t have enough people to cover everything. And the Cavendish royal family definitely has operatives here. With inside help, getting out won’t be hard.”
Nyx made a split-second decision. “Then there’s no point guarding the main exits. That’ll just waste time.”
Sheena stared at her. “You mean…”
Nyx shot into the air, scanning the city in all four directions. “We gamble. Think like the enemy. Which direction would you choose? The most low-profile one. The less obvious, the better.”
She dropped back down, eyes sharp. “We bet on crossing paths with them as they move. Luna will stay in constant contact. I’d say we’ve got at least a fifty-percent chance.”
Sheena didn’t hesitate. “Fine. We split up.”
At the intersection, they separated and vanished in opposite directions.
Across Chetvine, Finnegan, Brielle, Amari, Eric, Jerome, and the others had already scattered through the streets and alleyways. Suddenly, they all received a message from Luna.
Stop searching blindly. Head straight to the city’s perimeter and wait.
No matter what, Guillermo had to leave Chetvine. Instead of chasing shadows, they would lie in wait. Passive searching was pointless. A calculated ambush gave them better odds.
Still, Chetvine was vast, and their manpower was limited.
By the time Luna arrived at the Cunningham and Harding families, she had no patience left for diplomacy.
“Guillermo is a cornered beast,” she said bluntly. “His death is inevitable. Are your families going to follow Andrew’s orders or not?”
Her gaze turned ice-cold.
“If you refuse, once this is over, Andrew will wipe out both of your families. Not a single one of you will be left standing.”
