Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3271

The black-clad man moved with terrifying precision.

His silhouette sliced through the night like an eagle gliding beneath Chetvine’s dark sky. He avoided the brightly lit main district, cutting instead through the narrow, crowded alleys of the old town. He flowed between rooftops and shadows without hesitation.

    Within minutes, he disappeared completely.

When he emerged again, he was already on the outskirts of Chetvine, inside a solitary house. Someone had been waiting.

A clean-shaven, pale-faced middle-aged man stood quietly in the room. He offered only a slight nod when he saw the newcomer. His eyes immediately shifted to Guillermo, who hung limply from the black-clad man’s grip.

Guillermo was half-conscious. Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. His left eye socket was a ruin of torn flesh and clotted red.

He was blind in that eye.

    The middle-aged man—Wesley Mackenzie—stiffened in shock.

“That brat could still unleash that kind of power? He injured Guillermo this badly?”

The black-clad man, Cormac Cavendish, let out a cold snort.

“It’s not just the injury. If I’d arrived a moment later, Guillermo would’ve been dead.”

As they spoke, Guillermo’s body suddenly straightened. He staggered, nearly collapsing, but forced himself upright. Without a word, he reached into his coat, pulled out a handful of pills, and shoved them all into his mouth at once.

He dropped to the ground, sat cross-legged, and immediately began meditating.

    His breathing steadied.

Color slowly returned to his pale face.

Cormac and Wesley didn’t interrupt him. They simply waited.

After a moment, Wesley lowered his voice. “Did you finish Andrew while you were there?”

    Cormac’s hidden expression darkened.

    “No. Someone rescued him.”

Wesley frowned. “The Lloyd family still has that level of expert? That doesn’t make sense. Even their two hidden elders went with Donovan to confront the Hearst family.”

    Cormac shook his head.

“It wasn’t the elders. It was a woman. Plain dress. I don’t know who she is. But before I even stepped into the Lloyd estate, we’d already locked onto each other.”

    His voice turned colder.

“She’s strong. At the very least, I’m not confident I could defeat her.”

    Wesley’s surprise was genuine.

“You’re the second-in-command of the Cavendish royal family… and you can’t handle her?”

Cormac snorted lightly. “I have no reason to lie. She’s at the peak of martial god level. Judging from her combat rhythm, she has military training—Holtrien, most likely. But her foundation… that comes from an ancient sect.”

    Wesley fell silent, processing that.

Cormac continued evenly, “Even though I didn’t kill the kid, he’s probably already halfway to the grave. He won’t interfere with our larger plan.”

Wesley allowed himself a small smile. “Good. Once Guillermo stabilizes, we’ll move him out of Chetvine.”

Cormac was about to respond when he turned his head.

Guillermo had opened his remaining eye.

With only one eye left, his face looked even more grotesque, more distorted.

He rose to his feet without a word and moved to treat the deep wound in his abdomen—the one Andrew had carved through him.

Cormac stepped forward. “Mr. Vazquez, let me assist you.”

    “No need,” Guillermo replied flatly.

    His tone carried unmistakable dissatisfaction.

    “Your family’s timing was… impressive.”

Wesley smiled faintly. “You can’t blame the Cavendish family, Mr. Vazquez. You stormed the Lloyd estate alone to kill Andrew. If Cormac hadn’t intervened, you might already be dead.”

Guillermo’s face twisted as pain surged through him.

He poured medicinal powder directly into the gaping wound.

    Not gently.

    He forced it in.

Then he heated a dagger until it glowed red and pressed it against the torn flesh, searing the wound closed inch by inch.

The smell of burnt flesh filled the room.

    Wesley’s eyelids twitched involuntarily.

Cormac, the Cavendish family’s second-strongest warrior, didn’t even blink.

By the time Guillermo finished cauterizing the wound, sweat drenched his body.

    He stood there, breathing heavily.

    Completely exhausted.
