Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3262
Franz had barely left the Lloyd family estate when Luna rushed in.
She was dressed in full combat gear, her expression grave.
“Honey, we’ve got a problem,” she said without preamble. “The Dark Alliance and the armies of the three Western empires have launched their assault on Holtrien. The ancient conflict has begun again.”
Her voice tightened.
“Mr. Turman went straight to the front lines. He asked me to tell you the military can’t spare much support right now. I’m the only one who could stay by your side.”
Andrew frowned. “Philip went personally?”
Luna nodded. “He had no choice. The situation at Azure Gate is critical.”
She hesitated.
“But he said he’s arranged for someone to help you. When the time comes, she’ll appear.”
Andrew raised an eyebrow. “Who?”
A faint blush crept across Luna’s face.
“You’ll find out soon enough. All I can say is she absolutely won’t let anything happen to you. I had to beg her for ages before she agreed.”
Andrew grew even more curious. “Luna, just tell me. What’s the harm in knowing ahead of time?”
She shook her head firmly. “No. You can’t know. No one can. Mr. Turman was very clear. If anyone finds out beforehand, it won’t work.”
Andrew studied her for a moment, then nodded. “Fine. I won’t ask.”
Before the room could settle, a third wave of unexpected visitors arrived.
They requested an audience with Andrew—but the Lloyd family guards refused to let them enter.
After Sheena went to take a look, she returned wearing a strange expression.
“Andy,” she said slowly, “it’s Lorenzo… and Mikayla. Do you want to see them?”
Andrew fell silent for a moment.
“Let them in.”
Soon, Lorenzo and Mikayla were escorted inside.
Mikayla kept her head lowered, shoulders trembling, looking fragile and pitiful.
Sheena showed no mercy.
She stepped forward and slapped Mikayla hard across the face.
“You little bitch,” Sheena snapped. “Drop the pathetic act. Why are you here now? Don’t you think it’s a little late?”
The impact left half of Mikayla’s face bright red. She covered her cheek, tears spilling down.
“Sheena, I—”
Another slap cut her off.
“Don’t you dare say my name!” Sheena shouted. “When we were kids, you followed Andy and me everywhere. We treated you like family. Don’t you remember?”
Her eyes burned with fury.
“And then you grew up and turned into this.”
She took a step closer.
“I didn’t bother dealing with you before because you weren’t worth my time. But now you dare show up at my door? I know exactly what you’re after.”
Mikayla broke down completely.
“Sheena, hit me if you want! Beat me to death! I was stupid—I betrayed your kindness and Andrew’s. I came to atone. I came to apologize to Andrew.”
Sheena’s face twisted in disgust.
“You’re shameless. Calling him ‘Andy’ like you’re still close.”
Nyx stood nearby, arms crossed, a cold smirk on her lips.
“Typical two-faced bitch.”
Mikayla’s entire body trembled. She bit down hard on her lip, humiliation washing over her.
Finally, Lorenzo stepped forward with an awkward laugh. His posture was humble—almost submissive.
“Andrew,” he said carefully, “Mikayla and I came to apologize.”
He paused, then added meaningfully:
“And we have some information you need to hear.”
