Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3257

At Chetvinde’s northern gate, the air itself seemed to tighten.

An exceptionally tall old man approached in silence, ancient robes sweeping behind him, his long beard brushing against his abdomen. With each step, the terrain appeared to fold away—hills and streams vanishing beneath his stride. What should have taken hours, he crossed in minutes. When he passed through the deep forest, even the fiercest beasts lowered their heads and fell quiet, as if instinctively bowing to something far more dangerous than themselves.

    Then he stopped.

A cold gleam flashed from his narrowed eyes.

“Come out,” he said evenly. “There’s no need to skulk in the shadows.”

His voice wasn’t loud, yet it rolled through the woods like distant thunder.

From the darkness, figures shot forward one after another. In the blink of an eye, seven people stood less than thirty yards in front of him, aligned shoulder to shoulder, their expressions glacial.

The old man’s face remained indifferent.

“You can’t possibly stop me with just the seven of you.”

None of them answered. They only watched him, eyes like sharpened blades.

Suddenly, the two figures in the center stepped aside.

A tall, graceful woman walked forward.

Sheena’s face was frosted with resolve. “You are Thunder Sect’s Mr. Trevor Hudson, correct? Please turn back. Chetvine is not a place you can enter.”

Trevor Hudson of the Thunder Sect—one of the Eight Ancient Sects. A true martial god. Two years ago, he had joined Guillermo and others in surrounding Reginald. His name alone carried the weight of storms.

Trevor let out a low, strange laugh.

“So it’s you. One of the two prodigies of the Lloyd royal family.” His gaze flicked past her. “And those seven must be the Lloyd family’s department heads.”

“That’s correct,” Sheena replied calmly. “We know you are no ordinary figure, Elder Trevor. We have no choice but to rely on numbers.”

Trevor sneered. “Little girl, you understand far too little. Even with you and these seven, you cannot stop me. If I decide to kill… at least half of you will die.”

“We have no desire to fight you to the death,” Sheena said evenly. “We have only one goal—to ask you to turn back.”

Trevor burst into laughter and stepped forward.

    Lightning exploded across his body.

“If you want me to turn back, that’s not impossible,” he said coldly. “It depends on whether you actually have the ability to stop me. I came to Chetvine for one reason—to join Guillermo and kill that brat, Andrew. Step aside and let me finish the job, and I’ll leave on my own.”

Sheena’s lips curved into a cold smile.

“Elder Trevor,” she said softly, “you make killing Andrew sound easy. Do you know the brat you speak of… is my family?”

Trevor’s eyes hardened. “What if I know? What if I don’t? Either way, he must die.”

    Sheena’s smile turned vicious.

“Then we’ll have to ask you to die first.”

For a split second, Trevor froze.

    Then he roared with laughter.

“Good! You’ve caught my eye. But these seven behind you—unless they reach the martial god realm, they’re not worth my attention.”

With a thunderous shout, he struck first.

He raised one hand and unleashed two blinding white bolts of lightning straight at Sheena.

The Thunder Sect cultivated atop the highest peaks, drawing power from celestial lightning year-round. Trevor’s thunder energy was pure and terrifying—each bolt carrying the force to shatter stone and split mountains.

    Sheena did not move.

Yet the aura concealed within her surged violently, climbing toward its peak.

A brilliant blade aura erupted behind her.

A department head stepped forward and slashed.

The blade tore through empty air—cleaving both lightning arcs in half.

But the man grunted as electricity ripped through him. Sparks exploded across his body, and he was hurled backward, blood spilling from his mouth.

Trevor’s second, third, and fourth attacks followed in rapid succession.

One after another, the Lloyd department heads stepped forward.

    Blades rose. Blades fell.

    Lightning shattered.

And each time, a department head coughed up blood and was driven back.

    Still, Sheena did not move.

Her aura continued to build, compressing, condensing—clearly preparing a single, decisive strike.

Trevor advanced step by step, sneering.

“I’ve heard the Lloyd family has a female prodigy nearly as remarkable as that brat Andrew. Seeing you today…” He shook his head. “Not that impressive.”

    His eyes gleamed with mockery.

“You want to kill me with one strike. But can these seven wastes withstand my assault long enough to buy you that time?”

    He roared again.

Electricity coiled around his hands, growing denser, brighter—like twin suns of thunder ready to descend.
