Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3230
“Madam Baxter, you don’t blame me for what happened to Sovereign’s Apothecary, do you?” Andrew asked as he and Brielle walked through the now-empty halls.
This place had once been her domain. She had poured years of effort into it. That was why he asked.
Brielle stopped in front of the garden where she used to live and gently shook her head. “No. If anything, I’m grateful to you. Medicine God’s Covenant doesn’t just fulfill my dream—it’s given me a real home for the rest of my life.”
Andrew smiled. “That’s good.”
He paused, then added, “Julius will make a move soon. If he comes to Chetvine, I’ll kill him. I’ll avenge you.”
Brielle’s body trembled slightly. She lowered her gaze, her voice soft. “Avenge me? So… you’re doing all this for me?”
Her mature eyes shimmered as she looked at him.
Andrew’s heart skipped. He suddenly felt awkward. “Well… partly for you, Madam Baxter. But Julius and I already have deep grievances. I have to make an example of him.”
Brielle smiled faintly. “Why do you seem more and more restrained around me?”
“Do I?” Andrew asked, surprised.
She let out a soft chuckle. “Relax. I told you before—that was a one-time thing. You’re in a sensitive position now. Important people surround you. I know where I stand. I won’t entertain improper thoughts.”
She added lightly, “Besides, the difference in our age and status is too great. People would call me shameless.”
Andrew laughed. “I don’t see it that way. You’re not old at all. Honestly, you’re very charming. Plenty of younger men admire mature, capable women like you.”
Color rushed to Brielle’s face, even down to her neck. She shot him an embarrassed glare. “Stop flirting with me. If you keep talking like that, I’ll think you’re trying to take advantage of me.”
Andrew immediately fell silent.
Some lines didn’t need to be crossed.
He knew that if he pressed further, she might not resist. And a woman like her—mature, intelligent, captivating—would be dangerously tempting.
But Andrew had his own boundaries.
She was Eric’s mother. And Eric was like a brother to him. That was a line he would never cross.
With that, Sovereign’s Apothecary was permanently shut down.
Its destruction—public, decisive, and merciless—had been witnessed by every major and minor faction in Chetvine. From that day forward, Andrew’s reputation for ruthlessness spread everywhere.
The Dragon Prince of the Lloyd family, who had returned after two years, was rumored to be even more unrestrained than before.
Lorenzo went to see Guillermo once again.
“Mr. Vazquez,” he said through clenched teeth, “Andrew is getting more out of control by the day. He’s already forced his way through several major families. Now only the Cunningham family remains.”
“Tomorrow, they’ll either bow to him—or die. But if he keeps crushing Chetvine’s factions like this, shouldn’t someone stop him?”
Guillermo’s expression turned cold as he watched Lorenzo simmer with anger.
“The experts sent to deal with him are almost here,” Guillermo said calmly. “Lorenzo, compose yourself. I know you’re worried he’ll target the Owens family next.”
A faint chill entered his voice.
“But don’t worry. I won’t sit back and do nothing.”
