Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3228
Andrew didn’t spare Theon a second glance. The old man wasn’t worth his attention.
He turned to Titus instead. “Still not kneeling?”
The two elders sent by the Divine Alchemists were dead. The disciples were all dead. Only Titus remained.
Titus let out a bitter laugh. “Andrew, you’re going to regret what you did today.”
He snatched up a long blade and thrust it toward Andrew’s throat.
Andrew flicked a finger.
A surge of force struck the blade with a sharp clang, sending it flying from Titus’s hand.
Titus dropped to his knees. Whatever courage he had left shattered completely.
“Just do it,” he said hoarsely. “My life is yours.”
Andrew looked down at him with a faint sneer. “You want to die? Fine. But first, you’ll deliver a message to Julius.”
“He can hide in the mountains of the Western Regions for now—but he can’t hide forever. If he’s smart, he’ll come here and accept his death.”
A chill ran down Titus’s spine.
“And if he insists on hiding like a coward,” Andrew continued calmly, “then I’ll make time to visit the Western Regions myself and end him there.”
Titus stared at him in disbelief. “H-Have you lost your mind?”
“I haven’t,” Andrew replied evenly. “The Divine Alchemists’ days of abusing their power, sitting comfortably at the top, and acting untouchable are over.”
Titus shouted, “Do you really think you can take on the Divine Alchemists alone? We’re one of the largest ancient sects in Holtrien!”
Andrew scoffed. “Maybe. But from this moment on, you won’t be.”
Just then, a large group entered from outside.
For a brief second, hope surged in Titus’s chest. He thought reinforcements from Chetvine had arrived to support Sovereign’s Apothecary.
But when he saw Brielle, his heart sank.
“You must be enjoying this,” he shouted bitterly. “Watching it all fall apart!”
Behind her veil, Brielle’s expression remained calm. “Titus, this is the consequence of Julius’s choices. Two years ago, he listened to Guillermo and did things he never should have done. Now that the reckoning has come, shouldn’t he pay the price?”
Titus roared, “Have you forgotten you were once one of us? Brielle, can you really stand there and watch Sovereign’s Apothecary be destroyed?”
She was silent for a moment before answering softly, “I don’t belong to Sovereign’s Apothecary anymore. I work for Medicine God’s Covenant now. There, I can still practice alchemy and do what I love.”
Her voice steadied. “Medicine God’s Covenant is fundamentally different. The Divine Alchemists squeeze the world dry to feed their own interests. But Medicine God’s Covenant runs an honest business. Our alchemists are free to develop the elixirs they believe in—and they’re sold at fair prices to martial artists across Holtrien who truly need them.”
“That was the original vision of our predecessors when they created the art of alchemy—not Julius’s model of exploitation, flattery of the powerful, and self-interest.”
Titus shook his head slowly. The last fragment of hope inside him crumbled.
“Fine. Well said.”
He pointed at Brielle, anguish twisting his face. “Then why don’t you kill me too? Finish off someone as filthy as me along with the rest!”
Brielle’s expression grew complicated. “There’s no deep hatred between us, Titus. Since Andrew is sparing you, go. But hear me clearly—never return to Chetvine.”
Heartbroken and defeated, Titus turned and left Sovereign’s Apothecary. Andrew spared him for one reason only—to carry his message back to the Western Regions and deliver it to Julius word for word.
Under Amari’s direction, members of Medicine God’s Covenant swiftly cleared out Sovereign’s Apothecary.
“Andrew,” Amari said with a helpless sigh, “this makes us look bad. It feels no different from a smash-and-grab.”
Andrew’s tone was icy. “Whether it’s robbery or not is irrelevant. Even if it were, who could stop me? Just do it. Soon, the military will arrive to transport everything.”
He looked ahead, eyes distant. “In the coming war, no amount of medicine will be enough.”
Amari sighed again. “But the other factions won’t understand your intentions. They’ll only see a ruthless tyrant who’s lost his humanity.”
