Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3226
Andrew slowly rose to his feet and clamped a hand around Sergio’s throat. Sergio’s face turned bright red as the air was cut off. In Andrew’s grip, he was completely powerless—unable to summon even a fraction of his strength.
Struggling to breathe, Sergio forced out, “If… killing me… will ease your anger, I—I’m willing to die. I only ask… spare my family…”
All the pride he had carried for decades, all the victories he had once celebrated, dissolved into humiliation and bitter tears.
Andrew let out a cold snort and tightened his grip. Then he flung Sergio away. Sergio slammed hard against the wall and crashed to the floor.
He coughed up a mouthful of blood. Strangely, he didn’t feel pain. Instead, with a trace of fragile hope, he asked, “Andrew… are you willing to spare me?”
Andrew straightened and walked toward the exit of the Harding residence, his face blank. “Sparing you is temporary. Your life still belongs to me. No one can save you.”
Sergio’s face turned ashen once more. He knew it wouldn’t be that simple. His voice shook. “W-What exactly do you want?”
Andrew replied coldly, “Wait for my instructions. Soon, the Harding family will go to the battlefield for me.”
“Killing you now would be a waste,” he added. “Better to send you to fight for Holtrien. Maybe then, I’ll think a little more highly of you.”
Sergio had no idea what battlefield Andrew meant. But being allowed to live—even for now—filled him with overwhelming relief.
After leaving the Harding residence, Andrew had only one stop left: the Cunningham residence. The Cunningham family was one of Chetvine’s most powerful clans and had fought the Lloyd royal family with particular brutality.
Aspen asked thoughtfully, “Honey, are you hesitating because of your relationship with Conrad?”
Andrew answered flatly, “My relationship with Conrad is separate. What I need to do has nothing to do with him. And he can’t interfere.”
Still, Andrew gave Conrad advance notice. The Cunningham family had one day to prepare. Tomorrow, he would personally pay them a visit and ask Otto whether he still dared to be as arrogant as before.
Otto had long dreamed of replacing the Lloyd royal family. After all these years, he had gained nothing. Now, what awaited him was Andrew’s absolute suppression.
Meanwhile, at Sovereign’s Apothecary, the three-day deadline Andrew had set had arrived. Yet the doors remained open. On top of that, two elders had rushed in from the snowy mountains of the Western Region to support Titus.
The moment Andrew ordered Sovereign’s Apothecary to shut down in Chetvine, Titus had reported the matter to the Divine Alchemists. When Julius, their leader, heard the news, his expression darkened instantly.
“That little bastard is asking for death,” Julius snarled. “Sovereign’s Apothecary is the Divine Alchemists’ most important enterprise. Even the major royal families don’t dare provoke me, and he thinks he can? I won’t have peace until I deal with him myself.”
Julius immediately ordered the elders of the Divine Alchemists to rush to Chetvine. The command was simple: if Andrew showed up again, kill him without hesitation.
Andrew and Nyx went to Sovereign’s Apothecary alone.
At the entrance, two rows of Divine Alchemist disciples stood in formation. Nyx asked quietly, “What do we do?”
Andrew replied calmly, “Do what you do best.”
Nyx smiled. For a fleeting moment, she looked breathtaking. But behind that beauty was boundless killing intent.
Together, they walked step by step into Sovereign’s Apothecary.
The disciples on either side watched with cold expressions. Once Andrew and Nyx entered, they moved in unison, following them inside before shutting the doors.
The scouts stationed outside instantly grew tense. Even without seeing what was happening within, it was clear blood would soon be spilled.
Inside the main hall, Titus sat waiting, his gaze icy as Andrew and Nyx approached.
“Andrew,” he said, “don’t push this too far. Sovereign’s Apothecary has already backed down again and again, yet you still come knocking. Do you really think the Divine Alchemists are afraid of you?”
Andrew didn’t slow his steps. He walked straight toward Titus.
Titus’s eyelid twitched. “Stop right there,” he shouted. “Take another step, and don’t blame us for being ruthless.”
The corner of Andrew’s mouth lifted into a mocking smile. “Fine,” he said coolly. “Let’s see how you so-called masters plan to be ruthless.”
