Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3225
What truly made Sergio feel powerless—stripped of even the illusion of hope—was what he had heard from Kyrie about Andrew’s conquests in the Outlands. Andrew was now the King of the Wastelands. He had wiped out several martial gods from the Ludendorff family. Even the Dark Clans of the West—names that once inspired pure terror—had been crushed beneath his heel.
Those feats, those ruthless methods, were beyond anything Sergio could have imagined.
Compared to Andrew, what was the Harding family? Nothing. Less than nothing.
“You want me to spare the Harding family?” Andrew said, looking at Sergio as the faint smile on his lips slowly hardened into something cold and menacing. “Then give me a reason. A reason good enough to convince me, and I might spare your life.”
His gaze darkened. “But if you can’t, then hear this clearly: the Harding family will no longer be a noble house in Holtrien. At best, you’ll drop below third-rate.”
He paused, voice flat and merciless. “And every Harding at the martial saint level or above will die.”
Sergio’s body trembled harder. Large drops of sweat slid down his forehead.
Suddenly, a hot-blooded young member of the Harding family roared, “Andrew, taking your anger out on my family only makes you look weak! If you’ve got the guts, go settle your score with Guillermo!”
He turned to Sergio. “Dad, there’s no need to be afraid of him. This is Chetvine. I don’t believe he’d dare do anything that extreme. Our family has hundreds of people. Even if we lined up and let him kill us, would he really dare slaughter everyone?”
Sergio exploded.
He raised his hand and slapped the young man twice—sharp, brutal cracks that echoed through the room.
“You idiot! Shut your damn mouth!” Sergio shouted, fury and panic colliding in his voice. “Do you even think before you speak? Who gave you the nerve to say something so stupid?”
“This is Chetvine, and you think he won’t act?” Sergio’s voice shook. “Let me ask you—are we planning to stay in Chetvine forever? The moment we step outside, they could wipe us out completely. Would that satisfy you?”
His eyes burned with desperation. “And once he kills Guillermo, he’ll command all of Holtrien with a single word. When that happens, where do you think the Harding family will run? When the entire world turns against us, do you think we can survive?”
He pointed toward the door. “Get out. Kneel outside. Don’t come back in.”
The young man’s face drained of all color. Trembling, he glanced once at Andrew, then lowered his head and walked out obediently, waiting for whatever judgment would come.
Inside, the rest of the Harding family stood frozen. No one dared breathe too loudly.
Sergio clenched his teeth and stepped forward until he stood before Andrew.
“A man takes responsibility for his own actions,” he said hoarsely. “Andrew, I’m willing to die to satisfy you. Let my death be the apology.”
His voice faltered. “But the rest of the Harding family… they’re innocent. To someone like you, they’re no more than ants. Please. Don’t make things harder for them.”
Andrew let out a cold laugh. “Sorry. No.”
Sergio’s expression crumpled. A bitter laugh escaped him. “I knew it. I knew you wouldn’t let us off that easily. It’s fate.”
He straightened slightly. “Do whatever you want with me. I won’t resist. I only ask for death.”
At once, the entire Harding family broke down. Tears and sobs filled the room as they dropped to their knees before Andrew, terror etched across every face. They were afraid—truly, completely afraid.
