Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3223
Andrew’s next stop was the Robertson residence.
When Isabelle learned that he had returned, she was overjoyed. The Robertson family had three prodigies: Andrew, Zion, and Emir. Zion was a notorious martial arts fanatic who cared about nothing but training. Emir, in contrast, was calculating and composed—after all, he was being groomed as the family’s next successor.
“You’re saying you want the Robertson family to support you?” Emir asked, his expression strange.
Andrew smiled faintly. “What? You don’t want to?”
Emir’s face twitched.
“Even if I said no, you wouldn’t accept that answer. Besides, the Robertson family has no way of dealing with you right now. Seriously, Andrew—did you take some kind of miracle drug over the past two years? How did you become strong enough to defeat someone like Kelvin so easily?”
Andrew remained calm. “That’s not something I can explain in a few words. So it’s settled. Once I begin the war against Guillermo, the Robertson family knows what to do, right?”
Emir let out a cold snort. “Of course. From now on, I’m your man. Just give the order.”
Andrew found that amusing. “How do you manage to say something so shameless with such a resentful expression?”
Emir looked utterly dejected. “No one in the Robertson family will ever catch up to you. It’s frustrating. In a few years, I’ll be leading the family—and I really don’t want to become your errand boy the moment I take over.”
Andrew chuckled, ignoring the melodrama.
Isabelle seized the moment to join the conversation.
“Andrew, you’ve changed so much in two years.”
He smiled. “Belle, you’ve changed quite a bit too.”
She pouted. “Stop teasing me. Have you ever seen a woman in her late twenties who’s only five feet tall? And I haven’t changed much otherwise either. Andrew… can you help me again?”
Andrew glanced at her briefly, then shook his head. “Belle, you’re perfectly fine as you are. Any more and it wouldn’t suit you.”
She giggled. “Since you think I’m fine, why don’t you prove it?”
Andrew immediately felt a headache coming on. Sometimes he genuinely wondered if Isabelle’s common sense was regressing instead of improving. She was nearly thirty, yet she still spoke without filters.
Her expression softened. “Andrew… do you know how much I missed you these past two years? Now that you’re back… can I be one of your women? You already have so many. What’s one more?”
Andrew refused without hesitation. “No. I can barely manage the ones I have now. Adding you would only make my life harder.”
Her eyes widened. “Are you really that exhausted? Do you have to spend time with all of them every night? With that many women, can you even keep up? You should take better care of yourself.”
Andrew’s mouth twitched.
Without another word, he made up an excuse and hurried out of the Robertson residence.
Isabelle was wonderful in almost every way—except she had absolutely no idea how to hold a normal conversation.
