Rising from the Ashes (Andrew and Lauren) Chapter 3207

That night, Lorenzo and Mikayla barely slept.

Andrew’s public execution of Skylar—so brazen, so merciless—pressed down on the Owens family like a collapsing mountain. For the first time, they felt the full weight of fear.

Fortunately for them, the Nieves family’s reaction was immediate and explosive.

The moment they received the news, rage swept through Sylvan Peaks. And before long, Kelvin himself set out for Chetvine to handle Skylar’s death.

Kelvin had once dared to pursue Reginald. Within the Nieves family, he was infamous—a true madman.

    What made him a madman?

    He feared nothing.

And he had the strength to justify that fearlessness.

After traveling through the night, Kelvin arrived in Chetvine at dawn.

Lorenzo and Mikayla were already waiting at the airport.

Kelvin stepped off the plane with only two attendants—both top experts of the Nieves family. He traveled light, but his presence alone was oppressive.

“Mr. Nieves, you’ve had a long journey,” Lorenzo said ingratiatingly. “Please, come to the Owens residence and rest first.”

Kelvin didn’t even bother masking his disdain. He gave Lorenzo a brief, indifferent glance.

“No need,” he said. “We’re going straight to the Lloyd family estate.”

Lorenzo blanched. “What? Directly to the Lloyd estate? That won’t do!”

Kelvin ignored him entirely. Instead, his gaze shifted to Mikayla. A sneer tugged at his lips.

“So you’re the woman Skylar fancied. Mikayla Owens, right?”

“Yes, Mr. Nieves,” she replied politely. “It’s an honor to meet you.”

Lorenzo forced a smile. “This is my daughter. She’s been devastated by Skylar’s death.”

“Oh, devastated?” Kelvin mocked lightly. “On the phone, I heard her crying as if the world had ended.”

His eyes swept over Mikayla’s carefully composed face.

“But your eyes aren’t even red. You don’t look like someone consumed by grief.”

The sorrow on Mikayla’s face stiffened.

Lorenzo coughed awkwardly. “She was overwhelmed, of course. But she couldn’t come before you looking disheveled. She put on a bit of makeup first. That’s all.”

    Kelvin’s expression turned cold.

“Lorenzo, you might fool others—but not me.”

    His tone sharpened.

“Mikayla is pretty enough. But she was barely worthy of my late nephew. She’s too calculating. The Nieves family has never liked overly ambitious women.”

He paused, voice dripping with contempt.

“Fortunately, Skylar is dead. Your pretty but useless daughter won’t be marrying into my family after all.”

Without another word, he turned, got into his car, and left.

Lorenzo and Mikayla stood frozen, their expressions equally grim.

Mikayla spat angrily. “Kelvin is insane! What does Skylar’s death have to do with me? Does he expect me to die with him?”

“Enough,” Lorenzo snapped quietly. “Lower your voice.”

    His face darkened.

“It seems our connection to the Nieves family is over. Why is it so hard for us to rise to noble status?”

    His eyes hardened.

“Two years ago, Andrew ruined our plans at the Advanced Medical Institute. And now—it’s him again. That bastard is nothing but a curse on the Owens family.”

Mikayla’s voice turned icy. “He’s making such a scene, heading straight to the Lloyd estate. Do you think he and Andrew will fight?”

    Lorenzo considered.

“Hard to say. But if Kelvin dares go directly there, he must have some ace up his sleeve. Let’s wait and see. Either way, Andrew won’t walk away unscathed.”

Mikayla hissed, hatred thick in her tone. “I just hope justice is finally served—and Andrew disappears forever. Even thinking about him makes my skin crawl.”

Kelvin’s convoy stopped before the gates of the Lloyd family estate just as the morning sun rose.

He stepped out, adjusted his suit, and his face filled with vicious intent.

“Don’t move yet,” he warned his attendants. “I’ll first ask the Lloyd patriarch, Donovan, whether he intends to take responsibility. If he refuses…”

A cruel glint flashed in his eyes.

“Then the Lloyd family will pay with a few lives.”

He added coldly, “The Nieves family has resided in Sylvan Peaks for generations. That doesn’t mean we fear the northern royal families of Chetvine.”

    His jaw tightened.

“And that little bastard Andrew… I want to see for myself just how capable he truly is.”

Kelvin strode through the main gate without hesitation.

Then he raised his voice and roared across the estate grounds:

    “Donovan! Come out here!”

His shout echoed through the vast compound.

“I’ve come to ask you—how do you discipline your descendants? If you can’t manage them properly, my family will do it for you!”

The sound reverberated across the Lloyd estate.

    His two attendants turned pale.

“Mr. Nieves,” one urged nervously, “before we left, the Patriarch did not instruct you to handle matters this way. Patriarch Donovan is a respected pillar of the older generation. Offending him so openly is unwise.”

    Kelvin sneered.

    “What do you know?”

    He lowered his voice slightly.

“We need to create a spectacle to force Donovan out. That’s the only way we ensure our safety—and the only way to deal with Andrew conveniently.”

    His eyes gleamed.

“If Donovan isn’t restrained first, and I try to kill Andrew directly, the Lloyd family will intervene. That would be troublesome. It would ruin my performance.”

    The two attendants exchanged glances.

After a moment, they bowed slightly.

“Mr. Nieves… you truly are brilliant.”

    Kelvin smiled faintly.

In his mind, the stage was already set.
